Picked Up A New Toy......
Finally got here as I finally snagged this Limited steez... Man its a sick reel and I cant wait to use the 8.1.1 for pitching jigs... Going to be paired up with my DX745 and 20-25lb Abrazx or Tatsu... I swapped out the Black knobs for some corks just to see how they looked... I might be upgrading the spool bearings to BOCA ABEC 9s....

Daiwa Zillion 9.1

Line For Spybaiting?
depends on the spybait.... I use flouro as you want that line to to sink and stay in the contact zone as long as possible... Ive worked closely with DUO over the last 2 years and have learned a ton about spybaiting and their other baits... I don know guys using braid up on St Clair and seem to be doing just fine.. for the spinbait 80 4-6lb 80 G fix 8-10lb 90 10-12lb is fine...

Using Custom Reels?
there are only a couple reels that I dont fish with anymore and 1 being my 1 of a kind Lambo reel... This bad boy has been used before but until I get time to drop in some faster gears it will just have to look pretty SICK.... All my reels are covered with the THICK daiwa Neoprene covers when sitting on the deck and in the rock locker... Ive had some reels for 10 years and they look the same as when I bought them...

Lightest Power Rod You Use In Tournaments...

Px-R. Why So Cheap
this is what I use my 40 million pixys for.... Wide range of apps that I use them for... Im sure I left out a few as I have 4 or 5 others that are in backup rotation for other applications Type R.....50lb braid on my Savvy 735 for frogs.... PX68......20lb tatsu......Champ 735 pitching beavers... Yellow pixy......champ 705cb........10lb line throwing jerkbaits PX68 SPR........DX701c......4lb line throwing a Drop shot PX68 SPR........DX702c 10llb line throwing shaky heads... Red Pixy.........Coalition 704c.......12-14lb line throwing smaller jigs...

Px-R. Why So Cheap
you would think, but people still buy overpriced stuff at BPS... the upper end market is not as big as you think... shoot BPS doesnt even carry the Pixy OR the Tatula Type R in the stores... And since the release of the Pixy in 2002 I have not owned a spinning reel as these things can fling a small bait with the right rod no problem..
-
Px-R. Why So Cheap
Right BUT most people dont know crap about the JDM market...Hence all the crap they sell at Bass pro geared towards 95% of the fishermen..
-
Px-R. Why So Cheap
the Pixy R is a great reel! Got one when they first came out as well you cant have enough pixys...lol TW is def blowing them out as there might be something new coming at ICAST next year...

Rod For The Strike King 10Xd
Ive been using the Champ 805CBRM for the 10XD (hate the bait as it pulls like an anchor) , prefer the New DUO 20A as it casts further and dives deeper.. The 806 would be better as it will have a tad more power and you wont be fighting the bait as much..
-
One Line For Two Techniques - Arig/swimbaits
65lb braid for both. Ive used too small braid and its snapped without ease throwing the A rig or getting one un hung... You want enough to straighten the hooks out if it gets stuck in stumps or brushpiles..

Need Some Help From The Daiwa Upgrade Junkies
Ive got a few PX68s and haven't done the drag star conversion.. It doesn't add THAT MUCH WEIGHT Grams at best.... Ive done bearing upgrade, worm bearing and pretty sure added 2 more handle bearings... I pretty much set the drag on the pixys to where I need to be and leave it..

Square Bill Set Up
We won a boat last year at Bob Sandlin as I was throwing 1 squarebill for 2 days straight and nothing else... Changed the hooks on it 3 different times as I only had 8 bites and they were all keepers.. My partner smoked the last one on the zoom mag trick worm.....I absolutely love throwing squarebills to cover water.. I throw with 15lb Power silk ALL the time doesn't matter the water color or veg as I threw the bait around log lay downs and stumps.. Setups vary for guys, but this is what Ive been using for a few years now... Dobyns 705cbmfglass, 15lb power silk(ISO) 21lb, Daiwa TDZ 5.7.1 or 6.3.1 as Im a FAST cranker by nature and both of those reels will not roll the bait over...
