Nice fish man! I love a good trap bite. I remember a day last year when the bite was tough; only 1 here, 1 there for my buddy and I. Well I picked up a new color of trap I had just bought, tied it on and my buddy was asking me for the other one I had after about 15 minutes. Literally, it was like flipping a switch and we ended up catching the bejeeses outta them the rest of the day. Not saying a trap will always produce like that but when a trap bite is on, it's on!

After years and years of seeing tons of shows, the last 2 were pretty special for me. First, I took my 16 yr old son to Judas Priest Epitaph tour at the Tsongas Center on U Mass campus. The Priest is both of our favorite groups and to have him see them for the last time for us both was a very special night. And second, last year I got the opportunity to go on the tour bus with Jeff Keith, front man, and Troy Luccketta, drums, from Tesla. Long story, but my sister's Mother In Law is good friends with Troy so we got to hang out with them before the show; their manager walked us to the sound booth before the show to hang from there; and of course the after show party with the rest of the band. Great night! Kinda bummed the pics were not great but they still remind me of a good time.

I fish pretty green water so I don't need a leader for visibility issues but braid has no abrasion resistance on rock and all of my water is rocky, so...

Well, I'm in southern Maine and I see water getting soft around the second week of April. Not unless some sun/rain Gods shine on us in March.

This is eerily similar to what and why with my log...works for me.

Keeping a log will be the best thing you could ever do to help your bass fishing. For starters, it not only helps you in knowing what worked but you should also put down what you tried that didn't work. Second, you will learn patterns much faster with a log. I have kept a log (not too fancy of one but a log) for the past 8 yrs or so. Before most outings I'll go back and look at similar dates, water temp etc.. and find what worked and what didn't and that gives me a great starting point. I don't want to get into a huge debate about fishing memories here but it definitely helps to have some history in your head before you go out. Then, after a couple of years, you will just know your own info and you will have learned patterns.

^^^Nice ride Chris! My first boat was a 1984 14' Procraft with a 40 Johnson on it. Went well, taught me a lot about boating and maintenance. Yours is just a little prettier than mine was...lol
