  1. ER here I come!
  2. First off, welcome to BR! Second, I've always wondered about this as well but figure the head is going to be down in some muck, sand, grass etc and probably will not matter. I think it looks better to us than to the bass.
  3. 3/8 as well but you just let me know if you need someone to test those 3/4 in Maine. I like that idea in deep water.
  4. Thoughts and prayers from Maine.
  5. That's one tough son-of-a-gun right there. I agree about either putting your head in your hands or getting on with your life with the cards you are dealt. I applaud that man.
  6. I'll 2nd these options!
  7. That's a sharp boat too SunFish. Darnit! I want a new boat now!!
  8. Yes x2. And ask away brother! That's what forums are for. It's good to learn how your systems work and to be able to diag and fix things yourself. None of us popped out knowing how to test an on-board charger.
  9. 4 years ago a good friend of mine crashed his YAK 52 while re-certifying his pilots license, upon take-off. He and the instructor both died on impact. RIP Mark, I miss you buddy.
  10. ^^Dang bro, that's one gorgeous ride!
  11. wait wait wait...What happened to Jose? I used to watch his shows as well and really admired the guy. Just seemed to have all the knowledge in the world about saltwater fishing. Didn't know he had passed. Much respect and RIP.
  12. ^^lol, ya those Lews are good reels. I have one, not sure which model but I love it too.
  13. True, but since he's a newbie, and Rule 31A, subset G cleary states that "Newbies with less than 100 posts, coming on bragging about deals found but not enough to share with the group, must sell said item for said price purchased for". So...I'll take that thank you.
  14. I believe that if you have the batteries load tested, a battery (the hot one most likely) will test bad. And if you jump on youtube, there are a ton of videos showing how to test your charger with a volt meter. Keep us posted.
  15. I, too, just had to try the whole fluoro thing but also feel like I'm setting the hook with taffy. I've never missed/lost so many jig fish in my life. Went back to my braid = started sticking more fish. I may use fluoro on a treble hook bait but nothing that requires a hookset.
  16. I feel color is more related to a particular body of water, and even more important to the weather/cloud cover than anything else. And as far as time of year, I believe the speed in which you work said jerkbait is more important than brand. I'm sorry I haven't directly answered your question but I just hammer them in the spring on a good 'ol Rapala Husky Jerk...nothing fancy.
  17. Anything "Marine" related is twice as much as it should be. "Marine" cleaner wax = $16...Maguires cleaner wax "for a car" = $4.99...and the list goes on and on. The marine industry rapes us every day. There is absolutely no reason these motors should cost this much.
  18. Welcome my fellow Bassin Mainiac!!
  19. Glad to hear a good update man!
  20. ^^^Gotcha, after a not-so-great guide experience on Falcon, I would have some tips on choosing a guide.
  21. Smokinal replied to cbadra2's topic in Introductions
I have a sister in Forest Hill, nice area. Not sure where that is in relationship to you but welcome to BR.
  22. Are you going to hire a guide, tow your own rig or find a rental boat there?
  23. How does it do my uni to uni and my Modified Albright??? JK, looks like a pretty useful tool in certain conditions, cold being one of them. Wish I had invented it.
  24. It certainly could be a bad charger, if it's overcharging. Is it a 2 bank? 3 Bank? Do you charge them separately with a single charger?
  25. So you catch a fish on this; what color trap do you say you caught it on?
