A friend and coworker of mine was off-duty in the early morning hours today when he was shot by a couple guys trying to rob the gas station he was in. Scott got hit twice in the chest and once in the head, no idea if he had his vest on or not, and obviously that does nothing for at least one round even if he was. Last I heard he was stable but obviously with injuries like that it's too early to tell much. He's a good guy and his wife and kids need all the help they can get right now.

Man that is horrible, my dad and many other family members are police officers and I hope to follow in their footsteps. I hope your friend recovers and I hope the terrible people responsible get the proper punishment.

Good Lord.  That is tragic.  I pray he pulls through and the rats that shot him are caught.

Last I heard they had 2 in custody, and were using dogs scanning a wooded area within 2 miles of the shooting for 1-2 other "highly armed, highly dangerous men".
