  1. lol, I know. Just giving some examples that some deals are out there. Now is a good time to buy one right. Even a better time in another month or so.
  2. Take your time man, look around. There are deals to be had. Just a few that looked decent. I know they are a little higher than where you wanna be but they would come down some. http://nh.craigslist.org/boa/4114916207.html http://nh.craigslist.org/boa/4121542316.html http://nh.craigslist.org/bod/4138594675.html http://nh.craigslist.org/bod/4233067477.html http://maine.craigslist.org/boa/4215583039.html The right one will come up for ya.
  3. I buy all my reels in LH crank only. I like my dominant arm to work the bait and set the hook. I also have no transfer after the cast. But whatever you are used to is correct. If you catch fish fishing the weird way, more power to ya.
  4. ^^^ I think I would agree with this.
  5. I'm gonna get me one of those! So far I have only used the HJ and KVD Shiner but that Rogue looks good too. Plus every cold water basser needs to have a Rogue!
  6. I'll get in on this. I have a 96 Nitro, small one, 16ft with a 75 Merc and absolutely love the boat. This combo has been the most reliable boat I have owned or even been in for that matter. Most of that could be because of maint though. It's garaged and well cared for. I will say that I feel Nitro got a bad rap for a couple of reasons. One, the finish and detail could be a little better, but your going to pay for it...go buy a Ranger. Second, I honestly feel there is a little sour grape syndrome that goes on here. Guys that spend 45-50K on a Ranger or Triton see some chump in a 12K Nitro place higher than him in a tourney, well that's gotta hurt. I can't help but feel some, not all, guys in Rangers and Tritons look down on folks in Nitros, even though it's not the boat that catches fish. It's like when I go to the 5 stand club with my $600 Lanber and shoot better than guys with $2500 Berettas and Brownings. And please don't get me wrong. If I were loaded I'd love to own a Ranger as they are fine quality boats. I'm just saying a Nitro is a great boat for the money and will put you in the same spots as anything else.
  7. We're going to get 8 in about 1 1/2 hrs too....of snow
  8. Thanks bud! I don't know why we do that to ourselves! By the end of February, I'll have tackle, rods, reels etc... layed out all over the house....just looking at it. It's self inflicted torture!
  9. We've got 12-15" coming tonight and into tomorrow
  10. Now why you gotta be like that?
  11. 1. You gotta be in water that holds big fish 2. Get off the bank and fish some deep structure 3. Throw jigs
  12. I can't post my favorite pair on this forum but those are some dang nice fish!

I hope I didn't blow your cover Ghoti
  14. I just upgraded both of my units and went with HB. I have a 798si on the console and a 597ci di on the bow. I, too, don't know too much about the different models/brands but I believe with the Lowrance, to get side imaging, you must purchase an additional piece. Where with HB, it's all internal in one unit. And as many will say, buy as much as you can the first time.

...been a long time since I have seen that term. My dad was born in Lithuania, came over when he was a child, during the war, and had to learn English. He's very fluent in both languages now but said English is the hardest to learn out of all of them, too many variables. he showed me "ghoti" when I was a kid.
  16. I just dont see that dish staying put at warp 7...
  17. I think you got it brother! Thanks for all you do! I felt bad complaining about such a trivial issue but it does make the forum more user friendly. I'll take this moment to thank you for creating such a great environment to discuss our passion. It's very friendly and comfortable here. I'd love to get together with some of you and fish. Thanks again.
  18. Sorry to hear about Copper. Losing a pet is tough. They bring us lots of joy when we need it. I like to remember that my family and I gave the pet a good life. Take care bud.
  19. I have broken the first 8 inches off 3 of them by swinging fish. And these weren't giants, we're talkin 2-3 lbers. I swing 3's all day with every other rod I own and never had an issue. I don't think I'd buy another All Star.
  20. OP, you're gonna be pumped when you first use that thing! I don't know how I ever caught a fish without one.
  21. I won a tourney on a lake I had never been on. I buy maps from these guys and really like them. http://www.fishinghotspots.com/e1/pc/showsearchresults.asp?keyWord=lake+travis remember though, the depth they show is at full pool so be careful. Subtract 50ft from all readings. What will water temps be?
  22. I noticed mine has stopped working as well
  23. I tried blades for the first time this year, on my last trip out. I was so stoked I caught 4-5 on them. The blades I bought were some home made ones off Ebay. They came without hooks so I could put the trebles I wanted on them. I added split rings. is this bad? I see most come with a split hook right on the bait. Any issue using a split ring? I used the KVD Mustad short shank ultra grip hook in a #4. 1/2 oz blade.
  24. Rage chunks. If I'm outta those, I bite off a Rage craw. If I'm outta those, I bite off a Rage lobster. If I'm outta those, I go home....
