Hydrowave Work Or Nah ?
what also you're not considering is how the sounds effect the shad the bass are feeding on. but whatever , it works , i love mine can't live without, best customer serivce. Gene Eisman called me back during his daughters soccer game on a saturday when i had issues with mine, which they gave me a new one free of charge.

I bet you called televisions "idiot boxes" and the cars "horseless carrages" when they were invented or maybe you still do

Backhand Cast
I kind of mastered the back hand cast / pitch this year. the only way to describe the technique is that you need to imitate the one handed backhand of gustavo kuerton thats it , you hold the lure like you would a pitch and go from low to high like you would a one handed backhand

Is There A "6 Lb Bass" Joke/myth Used On Beginners?
Well SLAP SLAP SLAP Here is the 7.23 lb bass i caught on friday early evening, and here is the 6.09 I caught on Wednesday both on a crankbait on 8lb flurocarbon. Weighed with my DIGITAL scale. welcome to Lake Casitas, where if you're not catching a 5 or 6lb bass a week then you're doing something wrong (so sad cause it used to be if you didn't catch a 10lb bass a week, and will be again when they start stocking trout). ALSO where a 20lb bag of bass won't even get you in the top 5 at any tournament. but yeah, unless you have a digital scale you can't ever begin to say "i caught a 5lb bass"

Favorite Bait/technique For Fishing Highly Pressured Shallow Bass
but to answer your question. i'd go with pitching silently a missle bait dbomb texas rigged with a 3/8 tungsten weight on a roboworm 5/0 straight shank hook, or a megabass pop x , or a wave worm carolina rigged, or a crankbait, or a drop shot. see too many to nail jut onee

Hydrowave Work Or Nah ?
Ive been using one for the past year and a half now , about 5 days a week on tough lake casitas. I have all of the sound packs , KVD , Baitfish Expansion, and Crawfish expansion. I've run the thing , and there are weeks when i haven't run the thing. My experience has even got some of the really cranky old timers at my lake to purchase one , and they love it too. And yes it works. period, it works. I think bass use sound and vibration alot more than they do scent. The thing you have to remember is that the older units and even the 1st hyrdrowave only played sounds in 8-Bit sound quality , or the same quality of original nintendo music. the hydrowave h2 plays sounds in 16 bit sound quality or the same quality as a sega genesis or super nintendo. So get the H2 for sure as all of the best sounds from all of the expansion packs are on the h2 plus there is 15 , 30, and 45 second delay settings. The best sounds come from the baitfish expansion pack which has my favorite sounds of "bait ball, and shad spawn" from the KVD sound packs , the "power pattern" is killer. there are times when you don't want it on and you want complete silence. but it all depends. My experience with it these past 3 weeks during the fall shad migration has been this. Ill go find the large clouds of shad and i won't see any bass feeding on them. Ill turn on the hyrdowave and sure enough i start seeing bass busting shad on the surface. Howell talking about using hyrdowave in bassmaster classic win, and he isn't sponsered by them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVuNIu1p6qo#t=57 cliff pace talking about his 2013 classic win. also not sponsered by them. "Pace credited his electronics, mainly the Hydrowave for his victory. Cold air and falling water temperatures had the fish sitting on the bottom and were not visible on sonar while idling across points, creek channels and bluff walls. Pace said that when he started fishing an area he could see the fish lift off the bottom and made them just active enough they would bite. The 2013 Classic Champ ran his Hydowave unit on constant in the passive finesse mode. Cliff was throwing a Jackall Squad Minnow in the wind and a V & M 1/2 jig when it wasn’t blowing. if you search this forum for hydrowave i think i provided a really extensive experience blog about it.

Hunting Giant Bass
For swimbaits? try the deps slide swimmer series. the new megabass iGlides (they do a 360 turn if you want them too). Also the deps bullshooter is insane, but expensive. Also buzzbaits are good for catching giants, as my friend caught a 12-6 on a white booyah buzzbait in June at casitas. Besides trout, Alot of monster bass in Cali like to feed on redear sunfish or crappie, find out where they are and you should always find monster bass. or just use google, i just searched "monster bass oroville" and came up swith this post . click on the picture, if you recognize where he is on the lake then maybe that will help you. "Guys, the Big Man upstairs was smiling at me today. I went fishing for a few hours this afternoon, and stuck a 15.48# Hawg on a 6" Senko. I was fishing in 8-10' when the big girl hit. I took her to a local market and had her weighted then released her back unharmed. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s144/riggscvt/15.jpg?t=1176091147 "

Imakatsu Hairy Chunk
I just found this bait from Imaktsu http://www.imakatsu.co.jp/products/lure/pro_a063.html Called the hairy chunk. Its basically a crawfish with pork hair imbedded in it. I looked up how they actually made it and it's intriguing to say the least. Love the colors of this bait too. I looked at some of the other soft plastics by this company and I was pretty impressed. definitley something to look into. I know tackle wharehouse carries their dread hog bait but thats it. Im sure i'd have to go to ebay to find what i was looking for for this company. on another note, i like to use ebay to find rare or specific colors for megabass, jackall, and other japanese companies that most US sites don't carry. i've got a pop-x in a rare matte color that just kills it for me.

Odd Things That Bass Spit Up
Here is a big 7.2lb my friend and I hand caught a few weeks ago. saw this massive bass kind of float up to the surface, trolled on over and picked it up only to find that it had a redear sunfish stuck in its throat. well it took both of us with 2 sets of needle nose pliers each to remove the sunfish (which it was still alive) and we weighed and released the bass back into the lake.

Texas Rig Head Scratcher
So this has happened to me a few times. Im pictching or working a shoreline sometimes with grass, or a point , etc. I'm fishing a Texas Rigged D-Bomb , with a 5/16 tungsten weight. So I cast out , do my thing, and then when i'm reeling the thing back to the boat i get slammed by a 5lber. its happened to me about 3 times , and it has also happened to me when ive been reeling back in a drop shot. So in my mind, im like hmm. i should get a strike king rage blade or maybe a swim jig and try using that instead. I did that, but that hasn't worked. Each time this has happened to me , the fish is always over 4lbs. so what to do?

How To Know When To Move From A Spot Or Switch The Technique
Ive found that if you use the count the number of casts you make on a spot vs minutes spent on a spot that you will be more effective.
