  4. Have you considered a inflatable pontoon boat ? I have a seaeagle 285 fpb and it's really versatile I use it on lakes ,ponds and rivers , I have a 40lb MK also have an anchor ,Just another option... Best of luck ....

  7. I use 20lb braid for frogs and buzz baits because it floats , cranks/spinners and worms are 12lb tatsu .. and 15lb seaguar for jigs

  11. A-Jay I agree , I've had mine on for a bout 2 weeks now and does make a world of difference for a smaller boat , I think it was designed for a pontoon style boat.. I can turn much better and have no sideways tracking now... All in all it was a good investment ...

  13. I use a GL2 724c JWR Hvy 6' and own 4 other loomis's 2 more GL2 and 2 Gl3 one med hvy the rest hvy like them all ... Good luck
  14. I had problems until i went to 20lb braid works fine now and I did'nt spool it loose but did'nt spool it too tight either it's what works for me

I'm in the same boat as you .I use gloomis rods I have a gl3 heavy 6'6 that works fine for my baby hard gills , I also have a gl2 heavy 6'8 that i use sometimes ..I fish out of a pontoon boat and did'nt want anything too long ...Just make sure you have a good solid reel , If you start using anything bigger than the hardgills you might have to go with a longer rod . If you look around you can pick up a used GL3 for short money ,saw one go on ebay last week for 125.00.... good luck

  17. Ok I know this subject has been mulled over and over , Looking for opinions on what's a good low profile reel for 1-5 oz (mostly mattlures baby gills) swim baits .. As always opinions are greatly appreciated .. I like Lews and Shimanos..............Thanks

  20. Make sure when you spool it up it's not too tight braid has a tendency to dig in on the spool and that will cause back lash too..

  25. I have that boat and love it, I had it out on a local lake yesterday and had a great time , As ive said I have the 2 stage electric pump and it makes a world of difference...It does gey blown around in the wind but I have a 5lb anchor that works perfectly... Good luck
