  1. i just got a symetre fj3000 for my finesse stuff, gonna pair it with a carbonlite 6'8" MXF. im not going with as light a line as you, gonna use 8lb trilene sensation. I imagine the carbonlite will suit you well for those needs.
  2. seen this question asked on fb and had fun reading the responses. i imagine i fall in the middle of the pack with 47.
  3. martens, ehrler, swindle for tourney pros. zona and mercer for tv show pros.
  4. i have been playing guitar for 21 years and some 8 years ago i was jamming with some guys in a thrash/death metal project and we each came up with a list of band and song names that we would like to use and slain empire was on my list for band names. we didnt end up using it at all and i just started using it in my email address and it kind of went from there.
  5. same with me, damn0007. heck i still use tru-turn hooks with them. why fix something if it isnt broken?
  6. 8lb trilene sensation mono for finesse, 10lb bps excel for everything else.
  7. i have never actually fished a fluke amazingly. i have 1 bag of super fluke jrs that im gonna try drop shotting when i get the chance.
  8. i dont have a boat personally but i get out on one quite often
  9. id say 80% of my fishing is soft plastics and jigs, its definitely my comfort zone. the rest is mostly split between shallow cranks, squarebills, and spinnerbaits. there arent too many bodies of water that i fish were deep cranking would apply but i have a few as well as some spoons but the stay in my overflow tackle box. ive only used swimbaits a little bit and only this past season with very little success. i'll probably get some bluegill swimbaits and see how they will work for me at some point this season.
  10. here are some recent additions, some from dicks sporting goods, some from my girlfriend for valentines day. got some bps flicker worms, dream shot, zoom ol monsters, o rings, spike it, havoc the deuce, vmc flippin hooks, spot remover shakey heads, and some jigs. between rods, reels, and various tackle upwards of $600 has been spent in the past 2 weeks. i guess this bait monkey thing is for real huh? lol.
  11. tnn bass tournament of champions for snes
  12. i ALWAYS take 2 extra pairs of socks with me and keep them in my backpack(also keep things like bug spray, sun block, drinks, snacks, ect in there). cant stand the feeling of having wet feet all day.
  13. they are green pumpkin, black/blue flake, and black/yellow swirl. i figured i would give the black/yellow swirl a try because it would be a could perch imitator. we dont have shad around here so much so perch, bluegill, craw, and frog type colors are the safest bet.
  14. they havent let me down after all these years, plus there are many times when i find them on sale. sometimes i think people over think things and forget that something as simple as a curl tail texas rig plastic worm will do the job.
  15. a couple more things i couldnt upload in the first post
  16. How is it? What things do you think i should add based on the style i fish according to what i already have? Last year was my first year really getting back into fishing after several years of only getting out a couple times a year. I have more stuff coming that my girlfriend is getting me for valentines day and i'll add that stuff to this thread when it gets here. I do a pretty even mix of boat fishing and shore fishing so i try to make it as organized as possible while still being able to take as much as i can.
  17. not the best pictures but it gives the idea. 2 bps bionic plus baitcasters(6.3:1, 7.0:1), bps viper spinning reel, bps tourney special spinning rod 6' M(not pictured), 2 reel covers, 2 rod socks, a pack of rod wraps, spooling station, jig eye cleaner, braid scissors, 3 spools of various line, 12 various crank baits, 2 spinner baits, 2 buzzbaits, 15 bags of various soft plastics, 1 booyah pad crasher jr, 7 jigs, and 3 sizes of bullet sinkers. im pretty sure thats it unless i just missed something. as it was my first trip ever to bass pro it was a little overwhelming but man was it fun. cant wait to do it again!
  18. just got done about an hour ago. i'll post a pic of what i got after i get home. spent $450!
  19. For bodies of water i fish its really all over the place, rocky river(susquehanna in PA), grassy and shallow, deep and rocky, staned, clear, you name it. Ido fish more with soft plastics but spend a good chunk of time with hard baits as well. Funny enough, talonman, the dt4 in both of those colors are on my list. Here in PA we dont really have much shad in our waters so bluegill and perch type colors make more sense for me. As for things i need to expand on i dont have much experience with swimbaits so they are something i dont really know what to look for.
  20. of course i have a big list but what do you guys think i should get that is under the radar? i like to try new and different things so any suggestion is welcome!
  21. i think that this site is making me a tackle junkie, lol.
  22. i forgot to add look for eddys just behind shallow rapids, any laydowns, and transitions from rocky areas to more sandy type bottom. i fished it probably 55-60 days last year since its so convenient for me to get there.
  23. i have a spot thats awesome that is a 10 minute walk from my front door. im near the wilkes barre area. you can catch them all kinds of ways in spring but cranks are my go to. also caught tons using spinnerbaits, inline spinners, texas rigged anything, grubs on jigheads, tubes, buzzbaits...heck even nightcrawlers and shiners. it really is a great river to fish. night fishing for big cats in the summertime is pretty fun too.
  24. Like many of you, im sure, a lot of the enjoyment of fishing is the nostalgia and memories. I got started fishing when i was 3 and by the age of 6 i had learned how to texas rig. i imagine the bass in these pictures were caught that way. The perch was caught on a crappie jig if i remember right. I was 7 in the pic with the red shirt and 6 in the other 2. Puts these pics at around '87-early '88.
