  1. got out for a few hours last weekend and caught my 1st one of the season. it was only about 15 inches or so but it was my first fish ever caught on baitcasting gear. i was fishing a small lake in shickshinny PA. caught her using a bass pro xps squarebill in about 2 feet of water. after 30 years of fishing(started when i was 3) i finally decided to give baitcasting a shot and im enjoying it greatly so far. no backlashes the whole time which is great considering i only casted in my yard about 30 times before getting out. the reel is a bps bionic plus(6.4:1) paried with a shimano clarus mf crankbait rod. i gotta thank bassresource for making the baitcasting transition much easier than it could have been. cheers!
  2. a smaller mountaintop lake called bear wallow in sullivan county, pa. a shallow, grassy, full of trees lake. most awesome looking and productive lake i have ever fished.
  3. got some clearance goodies last night at my walmart. nothing major but they were only $2 an item...6 pack of #4 mustad ultrapoint trebles, 2 packs of black/char 7" power worms, and a pack of green pumpkin crazy legs chigger craws.
  4. i dont complain too much, just take a bag with me and do my part. i couldnt tell you how much garbage ive cleaned up by my river spot over the years. yeah, it is annoying but unfortunately it will never go away. might as well take care of what i can.
  5. the plano elite 3600 size fit my needs
  6. i picked up a real craw xcs100 and xr25 lipless today at my local dsg(2.99 each). also picked up some big bite baits 6" creatures(2 packs of 5 for $1.50 each), an eagle claw wacky tool for $3, and a chartreuse/white cavitron buzzbait for like $7.
  7. rage craw, rage chunk, netbait paca chunk, and powerbait chigger craw are my most effective trailers that i use.
  8. 7" power worm rage tail anaconda bps stik-o
  9. a buddy of mine had a tiny pond in his back yard years ago and he would throw garder snakes in there all the time and the bass would destroy them. it was pretty cool to see.
  10. i have the 3600 size and i love it. i have no issues with fitting smaller spinnerbaits and its the best way for larger spinnerbaits that ive used.
  11. gonna try them for the first time this year. i got some of each type in the line to try out...pad crasher(leopard frog), poppin pad crasher(bullfrog), and 2 pad crasher jrs(cricket frog and leopard frog. im expecting the results to be fairly decent and if they are i'll get more.
  12. im originally from bradford county. grew up in canton, lived in towanda a bit. where are you at?
  13. thanks for the suggestions. i think im gonna try the solar shield fit over for the time being until i can afford a better option.
  14. i wear glasses and dont really want the bulk of having a full pair of polarized sunglasses that fit over my glasses. the only clip on variety i have found are $8 and made by strike king. i figure $8 polarized cant be that good so what should i check out? thanks in advance.
  15. if you like shakey head fishing then check out the flicker worm
  16. not as much 1 lure specifically but for river smallies nothing beats craw style cranks that range from 1'-4' just behind shallow rapids where it starts to drop off. gonna use megastrike craw for the first time this year and im excited to see the results.
  17. i got mine at walmart but also seen them at dicks
  18. seems to be shimano these days
  19. or the buzz plug jr could be just the ticket on any given day. never know unless you try.
  20. Picked up a buzz plug Jr today, I think its smaller size will help, especially here in the northeast.
  21. awesome since i just got a symetre 3000fj and plan to pair it with a carbonlite, lol
  22. up to this point 4 reels(2 bps bionic plus baitcasters 7.0:1 and 6.3:1, bps viper spinning reel 5.2:1 10bb, and a shimano symetre 3000fj), 3 rods(2 shimano clarus bc rods-1 worm and jig 1 crankbait, bps tourney special spinning 6' MF), tons of soft plastics, cranks, frogs, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, terminal tackle, fishing related tools, utility boxes.....etc. its been a fun winter for acquiring stuff.
  23. im glad i have the opinion that "if it has a head and a tail, its good." even if a fish is small at least something is still biting, you could be catching nothing instead.
