Yup, nothing wrong with keeping, dispatching "legally" caught fish. Who cares who agrees, I don't... Incidentally, I probably would have called CPS on behalf of the kids.. The fish are the last concern on a huge list of " proper priorities " as far as I can see...

Haven't bought a magazine about fishing since 2000.. Even then it was becoming ridiculous, that said 80's era in-fisherman was the best "book magazine" I ever read! Bassmaster was great too!

What exact rod is your quantum? KVD, puts his name on a lot of rods, is this the " PT" series or something else? The upper tier of rods can be very nice, lower end, not so much ( not all though) Is it just ugly or something? Idk, without using the rod & reel, how are you sure? It really depends on what exact rod & reel as to what the used market may allow for pricing.. You could try listing on here in the Fleamarket. Good luck..

Mount a reel and run to some water ( or drive ) and throw baits on both rods.. That's how you are going to make the best determination.

St. Croix over any shimano rod, IMO

Fishing the St.Johns @ Jacksonville, I use to watch the locals roll carts down to the river. Onboard those carts were bags of chicken feed, they would chum the river, then with cane poles and sometimes just a bare hook, other times a bit of yarn... Catch 10 to 20 mullet a trip, 14" to 16" fish.. Go eat them & come back the next day! I never tryed mullet, to many other great fishes to settle on that for me...
