Well, Hmm, the reel handle and stem appear to have been designed by a individual in a manic depressive state of mind.. A carbon handle, or straight up aluminum, keep a carbon reel stem?Maybe... Performance wise, this company has a poor design history.. I couldn't say anything on performance, but I can't stand the junk yard art!

Sounds pretty good, however I think you might hookup better if you don't use the glass rod for spinnerbaits, of course that's just my opinion.

Loomis GLX BCR874 I love this rod, on a cheaper note, I think the *** heavy/fast has a similar stiffer tip, which reminds me of the glx and I like that rigidity over a softer tip...

I love sloowww crawling a 1/2 oz football jig/ craw trailor... Using the reel, crawling very slowly on hard/ rocky bottoms... Strike detection is quite easy with this method, it's easily my favorite way to fish a jig..

I use to, years ago.. I use to shoot brass with matte earthen colors too! ( Think Tree stand paints) your right, it doesn't hold up.. But it's fun to tinker around with!

I have not noticed a real life technical advantage with the "Flipping" models, lol.. I believe it's easier to find heavier weights under the "Flipping" terminology though..
