  1. A few generations ago, most items were "Well Engineered" with ability to almost always be repaired. Nowadays, throw away faucets, throw away cars, etc.. Older, oftentimes IS better, but not always.. Still need parts.
  2. 5.0:1 = about 20 ipt in the "best reel" ever made for such work.. As RW stated " Shimano CTE200GT" with a hawgtech 102mm handle of course! Makes the work so very easy!
  3. Prayer works! Good overcomes evil.. Sometimes
  4. This past weekend in Ky. @ my place the Water is open! As such, invasion of the mating frogs has in all earnest, begun! Time to get my shooting range bag out and get the earplugs in. Geez, they are loud. It will ( fishing ) only improve from here, save flooding.
  5. Yup, my mistake, missed the magnum part! Owner Wide Gap plus 7/0 5139-71 Owner Beast 3/8 weighted 7/0 w/ CPS That's what I use w the magnum when I fish those. Cheapest swimbait on the market!
  6. Both, owner cps in 5/0 & 6/0.. As well as saltwater fish head spins w a 3/4 oz head and a 5/0 mustad hook.. If you need the #'s I can post them..
  7. Got to try one on Ky. Lake sat. ( my bro's ) although I'm not sure why he had it, he uses NRX rods.. I don't use Nrx myself, it's a great clean build, it's a very good casting rod, and has pretty good feel.. @ the money? I will be picking up a spinning rod! It was a 4 power rod throwing jigs & pork. I fished it for about 2 hours with a Daiwa Zillion on it. Has good balance on it with that reel. With the expediter program.. I don't see how you can go wrong!http://www.gloomis.com/content/g-loomis/us/en/home/conventional/support/xpeditor-program-details.html
  8. Why worry about what other guys are using not using? I mean, the sport is pretty vast. I use what I want, when I want based on prior personal learning that I actually experienced. You use a MH, I use a MLM, and ? Your point please..? It's a blanket statement.. It doesn't really work that way in fishing, it doesn't for me anyhow..eg, I throw traps on a heavy stick, guys swear my rod is incapable of properly flexing on strikes & fighting fish will surely result in massive #'s of lost fish. Guess what? It ain't so, been proving it for 31 years.. That's what counts, what I have done or not done. Sharing ideals, theory, opinions, etc.. Is great, & helpful, but at the end of the day, it's what you do & prove or not..
  9. If your bank fishing, uh, saturation casting. How intimate is your knowledge of the structure & cover? If, it's limited, then saturation casting with time on the lake/ pond should yield info about the water & food availability. Fish eat! That's what they do. They are either eating, thinking about eating, or moving into position for eating... Food! What do your fish eat? You gotta find out.. Meaning, what's predominate. Crawfish, shad, or mainly bluegill, sunfish,etc..cover, structure, pads, timber, river, creek channels these are all places for potential food sources to hang out for a few reasons.. Bass follow food! Almost exclusively! Save the spawn..
  10. Yup, and fast too.. I have lost most of my receipt's To light energy, they disappear faster than blueprints. Scanning is a sure fire way, but so is a simple photo.

Sure, sure, go see a doctor, surest way to end up with 5 diagnosis you never knew about.. Peppers! Cayenne, specifically.
  12. Just use the plank to cook your carp or drum on.. As they say... Throw the fish away & eat the wood. Yummy!!!
  13. Lol, apparently those smallies have been in trouble for awhile when Dwight's on the Lake!
  14. Which generation? I don't think you want it, however I do, please PM me the shops info! Grab it!! You can't outdate those Gen. 1 cumara's
  15. Silverthread is legit line, I just spooled some #8 on a spinning reel.. I also have some #30 in pink for leader use..
  16. Years ago I fished those with grubs, not the deal imo, too many ate the tails.. Fluke style baits are waay better.. I use those a lot, spinner blade gives all the action you want, fluke body gives it stability and substance.. Again, my opinion based on my own experience on shad filled lakes..
  17. 82. My Great Dane will not EAT my Beagle puppy, they are "kin" 83. Guys @ BR ~ Can you remind me who my wife is?, my cousin said it's not her...
  18. Congratulations Sir!
  19. The Only way YOU will know is to use the lines & see... The fact your not blown away by braid, indicates you should try other line types. Fish with a few types now & settle the dispute... Then come back here and ask which color Senko works best!
  20. Yup, he's like a Timex, "Take's a Lickin & keeps on Tickin"
  21. I sometimes use it in # 15 it doesn't break..
  22. That's what we shovel horse **** with around here,lol.. Change out sawdust bedding for mares & stallions! d**n fine snowplow too!!
  23. I know what your saying.. But you won't win trigging doing it the aforementioned method.. Got to upsize those hooks & increase your rods power You can find plenty of uses for that medium, even wacky or tube/jig combo, even throwing smaller crankbaits.. Good luck though..
  24. It's also a softer line as well as being available in clear blue/ flourescent. It is a good line. I'd recommend it.
