I will fish a pop r bait over a buzz bait, 10 times out of ten... That is how I feel.. Lol.. I also believe bass ALWAYS makes a decision to eat a bait or not, contrary to what some believe..I might be wrong, but I can live with it..

The solution to is change your line often or choose braid, braid is not trouble free however..

Don't forget, some mono absorbs water, while FC its said, does not. Some Mono lines are enhanced w copolymer then coated with a silicon R Flouric Resin coating that repels water. Those are the lines I use 95% of the time.

What reel? US reel use to come with a similar device to anchor braid/ reduce spool capacity. I can only assume that may well be what you are referring to..

Well I'm not surprised, I use FC on wacky rigs in 6 to 8#, open hook of course.. My long time standard lines are Yozuri & CXX and a bit of CX. I do not use braid. Interesting read, thanks for posting...

All the Oval's I have seen prevent your line/knot from snagging or being impeded/damaged by the split in the ring of the circular split ring.. Of course if you use a clip/snap of some sort it won't matter. Your line will be protected from the split/sharp edge...

Hmm, never worry about excess grease, never, ever had a shimano reel of ANY, model Not, bomb baits. Never received a faulty Shimano reel either, my Curado I's can pitch 4" and 5" senkos 120 to 140 feet, measured. #15 CX line.. I can throw 1/2 oz Xcalibur square bills. darn near spooling my reel... These reels are solid, sound and up graded from past curados. I too have much more expensive reels. This reel can & does compete with those as well. The Reel ( Curado I ) just may not be to your liking, I can respect that. There are many reels on the market at the price point that you may like better, none will out perform The Curado I though...

#8 to #12 Yozuri Hybrid or P-line Cxx, depending on cover of course..
