  1. The black max is a good reel for beginners or seasoned anglers a like IMO. I can't speak for the rod but I would imagine it would get you started in the right direction. I would definitely go with the 7 foot model. Preferably in a medium heavy power. As far as lure. Get some 4/0 hooks and some 1/4 or 3/8 bullet weights. The individual baits that work there for you would probably be best found by asking around what is popular for your area. You can always buy a few crankbaits and other hard baits as you go.
  2. Personal pick would be 1/4 or 3/8 oz weight with a 5/0 trokar tk 130( straight shank) hook. Put a missile baits d bomb on it and that will be one skillet setup. Or if you are punching the same set up but with a 3/4 to 1.5 oz weight. Also the missile baits missile craw is deadly when needing a little smaller presentation.
  3. That is pretty awesome. I didn't know about that. Be cool to find some folks around me.
  4. I may be asking something stupid but what is the members map?
  5. Awesome! I went with the cheaper option of the frog toggz bibs last year and plan on getting the top this year. It makes a world of difference staying dry.
  6. What do ya'll guys who have the same problem as I search to find the good deals on eBay that I hear of?
  7. If I make a mold and then sand it smooth, and seal it. Could I make a 2 part mold out of plaster.
  8. I normally don't buy combos but last year this time I picked up a bionic blade plus combo from bps. I have to say it has been an awesome set up. I got a 7 foot mh and used it to flip plastics with and caught more fish than on any rod. I'm not saying it's a magical fish producer just that it's a solid set up that will hang with any of my high dollar rigs. If you do decide to go with buying seperate components I would say get a PQ, extreme, or even a bionic plus reel while on sell. Then go to walmart and pick up a berkley lightning shock rod. They are cheap and very effective. I've had 7 mh for about 3 years now with a high dollar quantum on and it has seen many fish as well.
  9. Just bought a new crankin set up and put a 5.2 to 1 pro qualifier on it. After taking it out a few times just to try it out I will probably be trying to start switching ally reels over to the PQ. It's smooth and will throw a 6XD as far as I can get it out there. With that ratio reeling it in is easy as can be.
  10. I'm under the assumption the rods we see Bonby Lane using are Abu veritas? He is sponsored by them.
  11. Berkley big game can not be beat as far as mono goes IMO.
  12. The recon worm just all around looks awesome.
  13. The menace is alsome around grass on a jig as well. Anyone who punchs mats with a punch skirt would also be wise to put it on that setup as well.
  14. I really like the strike kings. The pair it seems all the walmarts carry is a very good pair IMO. They're comfortable and do there job. The first pair I order was off of amazon and I got a lenses color that I call rose. Both pairs have worked great and I will probably buy another to start off this summer.
  15. I really like the new spro shad. I think the best made over all frog is the snag proof ish's phat frog.
  16. All of the kvd baits I've seen are silent. They make a bait that is similar called the 4s. It is another very good bait. You can also find the 4s with trokar trebles hooks which is a big plus for me.
  17. Where and how are you using them? I like them a lot around wood cover. Running them into and bouncing off stumps is a great way to get a reaction strike. They are also great around riprap banks and any point really.
  18. Spro fat john and little john. The kvd 1.5's are awesome too
  19. Someone posted a video somewhere on here that had a lot of footage of him using the Livingston. You could clearly see that was the bait he was retieing. It was a different color red then the demon color. You could also tell the difference in the actual bait shape as well.
  20. The missile craw is the little bit thicker bait that was originally designed to punch with. But it's pretty nasty on a shaky head too. Especially if you want a bait, shaky head combo that will skip a mile under docks.
  21. Hands down missile baits fuse 4.4. Just has a very unique action that others do not. I also like the havoc bottom hopper. The plastic seems to be a little softer to me.
  22. Yessir I do believe that is the concept they are going for.
  23. I would dee finitely go with tungsten. I use 20 lb trike me big game for my flipping purposes and used the same strike king weight and trokar hook for the entire summer. Finally swapped when I downsized hook for a 3/0 to accommodate a different bait.
  24. I bought a few as soon as they came out last year or whenever. I did catch quite a few fish on them and never had a probablem with the blowing out or fouling up. My biggest problem with them was the quality of materials was not very good. Lips would crack first time it ever came in contact with any kind cover.
  25. I think they'll catch fish. Whether they catch them better than a normal non noise emitting bait I don't know. My guess is it's a solid bait, but the noise does no better than the rattles that are currently used.
