  1. Are you using a power buffer or doing the buffing by hand. If you use a power buffer they make a cutting wax that will bring most of the clear coat off if it flaking enough. If you use this you will have to be careful not to get into the gel coat.
  2. I agree 150% I am currently and firefighter/Emt here in GA. I am not really complaining about the money becuase i love my job but I think of what some of these people make and it is ridiculous in my opinion. I was talking to a friend of mine who is deputy sheriff who recently got stuck accidently with a needle from a drug addict now he is waiting on test result because the guy had hepatitis. My point is if my friend gets hepatitis from this is his live worth the 30 k the job pays. Just some food for thought.
  3. I used the cheaper one from walmart for years till I got a pair of costa del mar. Made a world of difference. IMO they are worth the money.
  4. I remember seeing a fishing show on the outdoor channel one time where a pro angler (cant remember which one) was talking about using two skirts on a spinner bait. He said one reason he done it is he could trim different parts of the skirt to give the bait a little different look. I have been going to try it and just forgot about till this thread came up.
  5. Its really a trial and error method till you figure out what the fish want.
  6. I like the double bladed baits as well cause it allows me to vary me retreive speed a little more than a single blade.
  7. One of my buddies works for dnr in georgia and he told me it was legal to have a largemouth in an aquarium the only problem is that if you decide to get rid of the bass you are not allowed to release back into the lake. This is to help prevent spreading of diseases among the fish.
  8. Hey Ghoti Thats exactly what I was talking about early spring and late fall I have noticed a lot of times i would be fishing one area and then move to another are a there would be about a 5 degree difference in water temp and the fish would recact differently. I just didnt know if that small amount of tempature change could effect them that much or not.
  9. I understand how water tempture affects bass such as cold water makes them more lethargic and all that stuff. But what i was curious about is lets say you are fishing a paticular pattern in an area of the lake with water temp around 50 then you move to a different area of the lake and the water temp is lets say 56 could that small change in tempature throw the bass off a paticular pattern.
  10. I recently got a new copy of bassin and I was reading the article of how pro use water tempature to locate active bass. I understand that water temp plays a big part in bass activity but my question is to what extent on one body of water does water temp play. On the lake I fish one area of the lake could be as much as 5 to 10 degrees different from another area. When moving from area to area I have noticed that the bass will react a little differently and a paticular pattern for one area may not work in another area. I am interested to here some feedback from you guys.
  11. The three things I found useful in finding off shore structure is a good topo map, good electronics and some knowledge of how to look at the banks and get a feel for how it relates to the lake. one of the lakes I fish is a corp lake and this past winter they have pulled the water down considerably. So one thing I have done has been to study the lake while the water is low. Hopefully this spring when it comes back to full pool I will have a few more place that may hold a bass.
  12. I was at fishing expo at bps and they was a guy doing a demo on the dt series and i was impressed by how quick these got down to the strike zone. I havent had no more hang up with these than any other crank bait. IMO good bait
