  1. you might want to check out the duluth bass club. I did know a guy who use to fish with them and he talked like it was a good club. I dont know if he still fishes with them or not havent seen him in a while
  2. It all depends on what conditions i am trying to fish. I will use a run and gun aprroach if i am searching for fish but primarily i am a spot fisherman.
  3. Buzz baits are great when the topwater bite is on. loads of fun and you can cover a lot of water. White or chartruse is my color of choice with a red trailer hook
  4. i really like the DT10 great bait
  5. I think color matters somewhat but it depends on the certain conditions such as water clarity, weather, and water temp . I think color plays a part somewhat because this past year me and my partner was fishing when the topwater bite was on. I was throwing a clear zara spook and wearing fish out while he tried two colors of zara spooks with no blowups. All of the baits were the same size and using the same presentation only difference was the color
  6. i think anyone who wants to learn to be a versitle fisherman must have dedication and a lot of patience. I dont mean just randomly tying on new baits but if you want learn how to fish a paticular bait or learn a new techingue it will reguire dedication and patience,
  7. durning tourneys i will go after quanity till i get my limit then switch over to looking for the bigger ones. I have fished tourneys were if you had a decent size limit then you would pretty much be in the money.
  8. i have had good luck with zoom baby brush hawg durning the day and of a night i will switch to a standard brush hog. I have also worked with modifying it some to give it a little more action.
  9. i primarly fish soft plastics and i almost always hook the point back in the skin of the bait.
  10. largest bass came on a zoom green pumpkin baby brush hog
  11. I fish these carolina or texas rigged. Also I take a tear a small part off the front of the brush hog and I use the rest of the brush hog for a trailer on a jig. I will tear off a small peice so that i dont have to much hanging off the back of the jig. You can use the whole thing if you want to.
  12. The lake i fish get a lt of pressure durning the summer months so i usally go to night fishing for bass at that time. But when I do go durning the day i try to look for spots that most people overlook such as underwater structure throwing a small jig with enough weight to get it down.
  13. when bass are hitting baitfish on the surafce I will use a bill dance spitting image shallow diver. I will throw out way past the scool and very slowly work my lure back through the school. Sort of jerking it to make it look like a wounded bait fish somewhat.
  14. IF i was fishing a cove where a creek comes in i would find the creek channel and fish it from the back all the way out to the mouth with a deep crank bait or texas rig.
  15. ga-basshunter you are not fishing on hartwell by any chance. Because it sounds just like hartwell the last few weeks. Durning the day i have had a little luck fishing the backs of coves where you have you have a good creek flowing in. Also flipping boat docks has paid off some. But I have switched to fishing night tournaments the bite seems to be a more productive.
  16. off shore structure such as a hump, creek channel or old road bed because these get overlooked by all the bank pounders and you can usually find fish here all year
  17. appreciate the info. I was looking at the original rad bait and thier blade is hooked straight to the eye of the jig without using a split ring. I didnt know if that would make a difference or not. I have plenty of old jigs i could use and really didn't want to get into pouring jig heads at this time. Again thanks for the info i will give that a try.
  18. what size boat do you have this on and also do you have a jackplate installed.
  19. How did you hook the blade to the eye of the jig. i didnt know if you used a split ring or not. I got my blades made the diagram was big help thanks alot
  20. i quess my worst habit is getting hung one throwing one paticular lure and not changing up as much as i should like when conditions change.
  21. Ive been having good luck with green pumkin brush hogs (the big ones) and i usally attach rattles to this. I also like to a zoom mag 2 in a purple or black color. I usually fish these real slow keeping them in contact with the bottom. This has been working for me the last couple of weekss.
  22. thank god for all our veterans and military personell. Also you are a good man. I wish everyone would take a kid fishing.
