  1. I clearly wasn't looking for the "it's only fishing" lol. I wouldn't have written this post if that was the case.
  2. To show their actual reactions to specific baits, to see what increase eye activity (interest) in something. You could literally do endless things for bass fishing with this technology. You are going into a fishes brain while a bait is in front of them and receiving real-time data.
  3. So, to get into a Graduate Studies program I have decided to work with Eye Tracking Technology in theory and physically. Basically, it allows computers to know where the user is looking (Tobii in Brief). Eye tracking devices detect and track the features of the eyes and their movements. The technology is associated around four key functions. These functions include connection, calibration, synchronization and the ability to data stream. Connection and Calibration are associated with the being able to see where the eye is looking, and the movement involved in the eye. Synchronization is the ability to view the devices state, which is crucial for the last function. The final function is the device needs to be able to give real-time data to the user or operator. "Real-time" means that the data is being received as the action occurs, which in this case is eye movement. Hopefully I explained that in a simple enough way (ask questions if you like). Anyways, I was surprised to find that this technology has not been implemented in bass fishing yet by some of the larger companies. Is the owner of Rage Tail on the forums? That would be super cool to see if he could answer that question. As I was saying, the technology has been around for a while now. This isn't a new breakthrough in technology. All you would need to do is recreate situational environments that you find in bass fishing such as cold muddy water etc. in the lab multiple techniques and baits could be used and the data could be studied to theoretically improve baits. Eye tracking can give you serious amounts of data, I mean you are essentially looking at a brains thought process through a specific sense. People only understand how bass function to a certain level (patterns, how bass react to weather etc.) but this could get so much deeper than that. I'm curious to hear everyone’s thoughts or opinions on this. If you guys are interested I can link some research papers on the topic, which go deeper into the subject.
  4. Friday looks great for fishing boys, Thursday night the low in Plymouth, NH is going to be 57. Super excited. Hopefully they start to move around more. Tight lines!
  5. The Improved Clinch Knot.
  6. I went out to Lincoln too in Amherst and got one by that shady small boat dock at the end of the pond. Good fat 4 lb, right up shallow too. I am a kayak fisherman too from Southern New Hampshire, I'm always down to fish. Send me a message.
  7. Ahhh, I had really no idea about how to weigh a "record" fish. Do you know why they wouldn't like it weighed on a boat, even when the water is calm?
  8. Check out "Stoked On Fishing" on YouTube. The guys are great and incredibly knowledgeable. Record fish starts at 15:08, enjoy!
  9. First year of fishing I was "that guy". Now, I just chill and keep it simple. Works incredibly well.
  10. Black and blue is my usual go to, but if the water clarity is really poor I will throw an all black jig and all black trailer with a rattle on it.
  11. I always find myself throwing a 3/8th swim jig after a nice rain up against the shoreline. It may not be the "best" technique, but that is all subjective. I fish small bodies of water and find that bass are cruising the shallows after a rain, so a slow-hop retrieve always crushes them. This technique is extremely similar to what Darren mentioned above.
  12. I was down in Florida just chillen and drove around the area, and saw a ton of shore fishing and boat ramps. The have like boat ramps everywhere you look. It is wild.
  13. Thanks guys for the responses and tips. Super useful!
  14. I understand why the law is being implemented, but this is like a really huge step for a lot of anglers in New Hampshire. Considering all my jigs are lead (won't be using them anymore) I now need to go buy a whole new arsenal. The problem I see is that other states still allow the usage of lead jigs, which doesn't give the market to much incentive to push towards non-lead jigs. That just makes non-lead jigs that much more expensive. Just a hassle, nothing too serious. #SaveTheLoons
  15. Hey guys, so last year I sadly missed bed fishing by a week or so. Unfortunately, I only found one fish on a bed, and caught him. Without a doubt I have little to no experience with bed fishing and I am curious how you guys fish for bass on beds. I've found mixed results online when I was researching this technique. I always thought that you need to use smaller, unweighted baits and crawl them into the nest to really aggravate the bass until they decided to strike, but maybe that is not always the technique. I'm not talking about super specific tactics, but what would be some general tips you guys could give me? Do I use T-Rigged lizards and other creature baits or do you go for the smaller "finesse" techniques to annoy the bass. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Tight lines!
  16. Good Ole New Hampshire. Great bass fishing, but was -33 two days ago with windchill. Gotta love it!
  17. On the water it was not my best year, I caught a good amount of decent fish, but I wish I had larger numbers of them. I'm still learning, and I learned a lot this past year, which is great. 2015 was also the year of experimenting my first GoPro, so I was also trying to figure out where to set it up for fishing, which I finally figured out too. I can't wait to start fishing again around May. I think 2016 is going to be my best season by far and I couldn't be anymore stoked. Tight lines everyone!
  18. Went to Amherst and caught a nice one off that huge beaver dam in the corner. Had to grind for em though. Let's hit the water in the Spring homie.
  19. Good luck buddy, you'll be fishing in no time. No worries!
  20. Going out Saturday. I haven't been fishing in a month or so due to college. What have you guys been seeing lately? Trying to establish a quick pattern or two.
  21. I have a love hate relationship with that body of water. Absolute monsters in there though.
  22. Well I was standing in my Kayak with polarized sunglasses and literally could see the whole pond directly to the bottom, and didn't see a single fish. That is why I assumed they were in the deeper parts of the pond, but was wrong I guess.
