  1. Reels: Pflueger and Lews Rods: Fenwick and St. Croix
  2. Learning to fly-cast, and this little guy became my first ever fish on the fly. Hit a bluegill popper.
  3. Don’t know if that’s realistic for me.
  4. Loon from this past weekend.
  5. PB Rock Bass. This thing inhaled the jig that I pitched into a laydown.
  6. Great day on the water. All quality fish. Poppers, frogs, spinnerbaits and jigs caught them today. Caught them deep and caught them shallow. 2nd cast of the day, the MegaBass Pop Max yielded a 4-0. Got some more decent fish on frogs and spinnerbaits. PB Rock Bass slammed a jig in a laydown. And I stuck a 5 right at the end, courtesy of a @Siebert Outdoors jig and Paca Chunk trailer.
  7. The vibration means the blade is spinning and the bait is doing what it’s supposed to do. When it stops vibrating, it could mean a fish has it, or it’s fouled up on weeds or itself.
  8. I usually trim the skirt, never trim the brush guard. A longer brush guard makes it a little more malleable. As for trailers, NetBait Paca Craws and Chunks are my favorite.
  9. Most people don’t enjoy things that don’t offer immediate mindless visual stimulation.
  10. Usually 6 or 7 setups in the boat, but really early or late in the year that number sometimes drops to 3.
  11. I started to use DSC on a recommendation from a friend, and I’m extremely impressed with the razors. I would definitely recommend them. I use to pay $40 for a box of 8 razors for the Gillette Fusion Pro-Glide, the the DSC razors are so much better and less irritating and also less than half the price. The shave butter they make is great also. I could never go back to using regular foam shaving cream. But you’ll never catch me with a totally clean shaven face.
  12. Nice report and fish Dwight. Trying to plan a trip to Rainy Lake soon myself.
  13. Not many people cast AND reel with the same hand like I do.
  14. Before I read your response, my thought was “what an easy question” for anyone who has made the trip.

  17. I own several Pflueger casting reels I love all of them. My favorite is probably the President XT. The casting reels don’t get talked about as much as the spinning reels from Pflueger, but they’re every bit as quality.
  18. Yes, swimming lessons as a young kid and having a backyard with a pool made me a strong swimmer. I'll never willingly go swimming in anything that isn't a pool, but I know if I ever tipped my boat or fell in, I'd be able to stay afloat. Getting ejected from a boat traveling at a high speed is a whole different thing.
  19. Definitely not as into gaming as I was when I was a teenager, but I still play some games. I have an Xbox One and right now I’m playing NBA 2K17, and I also Play GTA V online a lot. Anytime a Fallout game comes out, I’ll put some serious hours into that. By far my favorite game series. I also love playing Madden with my buddies, and it gets down right intense sometimes.
  20. Elf, right before Christmas.

  23. This is just the kind of stuff I need while it's -20°. So in 3 years you caught 3,784 bass out of a 100 acre lake. I definitely assume some of the fish you have caught were repeat offenders, 2 or 3, maybe even several times. A 100 acre lake is a small body of water, and you have pulled a lot of fish from it, many of which came using the same presentation. Like others have said, could be you're beginning to pressure the lake.
  24. ? I had never seen part 2. The first one is one of my all time favorite watches.
