  1. Nice catch where do you live where your weather sucks? I would say with that pic 3+ closer to 4
  2. I have the tourney pro and team gold. And have no problem throwing lite baits. If your looking between the two you mentioned I'd go with the t pro!!!
  3. I can't speak on the Vendetta or Veritas but i can on the carbonlites and what Grantman said would be good 7Heavy. You might be able to get the JM series under 100 if you trade in. I might be wrong but i believe they have little better guides on them.
  4. Shouldn't have a issue either way.
  5. Just echoing the others prob trying to clear them out for new rods to come out.
  6. Some good information but lets see it fish
  7. Right and right but can do left and right or right and left. But mostly right and right
  8. First thanks for reading thread. I have these reels and rods and would like some opinions on pairing up to make combos. I know I'm missing one reel but its the wife's birthday month and I bought a boat sooooo a reel is on hold for a lil. Rods: Dobyns championship 733 Dobyns coalition 734 *** *** 7'1" med fast Duckett 7' med heavy Bps carbonlite 6'6" med lite fast W&m glass square bill 7' hvy Reels: Lew team gold 7.1 Shimano curado i 200hg 7.1 Lews tournament pro 7.1 Bps Carbonlite 6.3. 1 Bps tourney special 6.3. 1
  9. Field and stream might have it being as dicks sporting goods owns it now.
  10. Are you talking spinning reel?
  11. The carbonlite rod is a good rod for the price. I have one in 6'6" ml, and I like it a lot. It has enough back bone, and its sensitive. Bps has a pretty good warranty (if you buy it). At that price of 100-150 there are some rods to think about too but, it depends on what kind of fishing your going to do with it. The micro guides are supposed to give you more distance and accuracy but having fished and owning them I would stick to regular guides. They might give you those things but it's not night and day IMHO. If I were you I would, if you know that's the reel your going to use go mount it on rods in your price range to see what feels good. If you end up getting a carbonlite I think you'll like it. Good luck
  12. Yeah what he said. Bps reel rod trade in. Do it.
  13. Mainly weightless but there is a time and place for weighted. No wrong answer.
  14. I have known about this ship for years now. I live very close and my father n law lives one property away from it. It's on the ky side if the Ohio near the town of Petersburg. I believe Lawrenceburg ferry rd.
  15. I have a 7'1" *** med power and I like it.. It is lite, pretty sensitive, but what I have a problem with and its personal is the grip where the reel seat it. For the price you will get what you pay for and a little more I think. It's a great rod though. Welcome to the fourms
  16. Agree, get a really good reel. Dual breaking system. There are a ton of great reels out there. I would personally go to a place where you can handle the reel, and if you have the rod you know your gonna use mount the reel on the rod for the best fit. Good luck great place to find help
  17. This weather sucks! Did f&s have any more? I live near might pick up another.
  18. Bank fishing I use a 6'6" carbonLite med/light with a carbonlite gold 6.4.1 ratio. Some places on the river or creek banks I can't throw the 7+ footers. The rod is extra sensitive with enough back bone to pull out hogs too.
  19. I got the curado at the Indy boat show and I got oil and extra brake blocks with it. Being my 1st shimano buy I'm not sure what to expect but hopes are high. Not being able to fish bc it's still freezing balls out. Can't wait to see how it fishes for you.
  20. I have fished it a few times, and I did catch a few fish with them. My buddy liked to fish them a lot and he also had some success. I cut the tail into a 4 split and it looked pretty good in the water too.
  21. Hula popper Jitter bug Mud bug AC shinner Good ol purple worm double hook
  22. I have had this reel for about 2 years now and have had nooooo problems what so ever with it. So far I would recommend it to anyone.
  23. I did a little one thing is, it was the last one other than their display. But even with a quick visual check I wouldnt have found the few issues with the reel. Thanks for the reply, curious have you had any experience with the reel? If so good or bad. I known I haven't had the best of luck with it so far.
