  1. I guess this is what I get for waiting so long to jump on the bandwagon. The Z man TRDs and Shroom heads are on backorder everywhere! . No Ned rig for me till the end of May.
  2. Yeah, I bought two. One 6930 on a ML rod and a 6935 on a M rod.
  3. Just wanted to give my BR brethren the heads up if you weren't aware already. Cabelas has a pretty good deal going on right now for Pflueger President split grip spinning combos. You can check it out here: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Home/Fishing-Weekly-Specials%7C/pc/105625080/c/112206780/Pfluegerreg-PresidentregCabelas-Tourney-Trailreg-Split-Grip-Spinning-Combo/1325675.uts?destination=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D112206780 I know they aren't a sponsor here so if we're not supposed to post these, please close the thread. Don't wanna step on any toes. Just looking to help.
  4. Thanks a bunch my friend!!
  5. I use a 7' MF Duckett Micro Magic cranking rod with a 7.3:1 Daiwa Tatula 100HS loaded with 15# Izorline XXX. No complaints with the setup at all!
  6. I gotta go with Wisconsin. We may not have the monstrous deer that Iowa has or an abundance of Volkswagen sized bass like the southern states but for a good all-around time fishing/hunting along with copious amounts of other outdoor recreational opportunities, Wisconsin is really hard to beat. When I'm able to buy a vacation home, It'll be somewhere in the Northwoods!
  7. Alright d@mmit!!! I've had enough of all this speak of hammering bass on this mysterious new rig and not trying it myself!! The problem is that when I do a search for it, I get a bunch of threads like this one but I cant find one with details on the rig itself and methods of fishing it. Can someone post a link to a post with some info on it?
  8. Yeah, it sounds like the Spro's are a bit more durable so I'll give them a shot and see how they hold up. I'm pretty much going to use any other Rapala squarebills I have with the expectation that they will break at any moment. If they don't I'll be pleasantly surprised. If they do break, I at least won't be shocked about it.
  9. I'll have to look into Yozuri myself. I tried Izorline and have been pretty happy with it so far. I didn't know Yozuri was THAT cheap tho! Good to know!!
  10. Interesting read. I moved away from Flouro mainly because of cost alone. I'll tie it to braid as a leader on my spinning rods but all but one of my baitcasters are spooled with copolymer. My Frog rod has all braid. I do believe flouro has its place but I also believe that there is a lot of hype that comes along with it.
  11. You talkin bout the candy???
  12. Wow. Texas rigged Rage Claws are my go to when I need to get some confidence going. Does the pond have any structure or lay downs along the bank? I would imagine if you threw it in a brush pile, you'd have to get bit eventually.
  13. HEY!! I'm originally from Chicago so I take offense to being associated with the rest of the Cheeseheads!!! And isn't the fact that we're stuck with Cutler for another year enough?? I have to watch Cutler AND lose squarebills?!?! This is getting a bit excessive ain't it????
  14. Yeah, I never slap lures on the water to clear weeds from them. It's just something I learned to not do, kinda like closing the bail on a spinning reel by turning the reel instead of closing it with your hand after the cast. I was taught that it's not good for your equipment. I didn't cast it into anything but I did bang it in rocks and such on the retrieve. Nothing out of the ordinary really. Halfway through the retrieve, the lure popped to the surface while I reeled in the bill.
  15. If this is what I am to expect when I fish their squarebills the way we're supposed to fish them, then I'll look elsewhere!!
  16. Yeah, I'm the same way. I might have to seriously consider adding this to the arsenal as well!
  17. I have separate Plano boxes for weights and hooks. Organized like this:
  18. The Door County trip was AWESOME!! We SLAYED the Pike up there. Got into a couple Walleyes as well. They were all prespawn and the females are quite fat!!
  19. Right now in these parts, green pumpkin with the claws dipped in methylate JJ's.
  20. I've done well with black and gold in dirty water.
  21. Thank you sir!! Order placed!
  22. Thanks much everyone!
  23. Sweet. I should be able to go from there
  24. Yep. Fixed it. That's what I get for doing this on my phone.
  25. OK BR brethren. I need a hand ID'ing a jerkbait. I bought it in a lot from someone here. I absolutely SLAYED northern on this thing yesterday until I friggen lost the thing. Can anyone ID this thing so I can pick up a couple more. It's the bass colored one on the bottom. It has a logo that looks like a big X on the belly. Any guesses?
