Ontario Smallmouth Help
I will be heading up to Balsam Sunday hopefully for probably the last bass fishing of this season. It will be cold especially in the morning, around 3 oC (37 oF for my neighbors to the south) and have never fished this cold before. I found a lot of good fall baits in this forum, but not sure if they are good for up here in almost negative temp! Where and what should I be fishing? Thanks

Budget Rod/reel Combos
If I were you I would not buy 6 combos and save your money and buy 4. You can uses some combos for different techniques. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/ It basically states that you can do most techniques with 3 main combos. If you save $200 and buy 4 combos, you can get better gear by spending $150 per combo instead of $100.

A Tough Dilemma
Be a sales rep for a fishing company and you can run the booth at ICAST which would be awesome! My dad is friends with a guy who is a sales rep for Lunker Hunt and you should see all the gear in his garage.

Upgrading My Rod Selection
MH F or XF for spinner baits. M F for jerk baits. Your shallow diving rod can be used for medium diving or you can go to a MH cranking rod up to a H depending on depth. I like the St. Croix Premier for cranking. When shopping just look for technique specific rods and go from there. Also search the forums for the technique and chances are someone has already asked the same question.

First Time Fishing For Pike
Good tip is to have fast erratic moving baits. Pike love em. Large bright Rapalas and shiny spoons may entice a bight!
