I'd recommend the lews tournament MB. i use the tournament pro, team lews pro Z, bb1, and the MB. While all very nice reels, my favorite is the MB. Which also happens to be the least expensive. Retail for $139 and if you look around/wait for sales can find them for close to 100. One heck of a reel for the price IMO.

I would agree with this. Call me crazy but to me there's not much of a difference between my Abu Garcia vendetta $80. and my Dobyns champion extreme $340. Let's just put it this way, I don't buy $340. rods anymore.

I sit in a very comfortable regular seat about 75% of the time. Standing for surtain techniques and tight quarters/accuracy. This is all relaxing, recreational bass fishing that I do. If I were fishing in tournaments and the like, there'd be a lot more standing.

Agree with this 100%. I have a bb1, tournament pro, pro z, and a MB. The bb1 is my least liked out of these. With the MB being my favorite, and by the way the least expensive.

For bottom contact weights 5/16 and up, fishing in and around heavier cover Id get the 705 extreme. Also double for frog rod. and at $ 225 I'd hurry. I ordered mine yesterday.

My preference is left hand reels. im right handed and prefer the rod in my right dominant hand.

Ive caught tons of bass over the years with yellow pp and no leader. This line is on all but one of my reels. (The one without yellow pp has 16 lb sniper fluoro, just for *** and giggles). i always color the first 8 ft or so with a dark sharpie, and occasionally I'll tie on a leader, but this is just because I'm mental.
