  1. I own 4 different lews baitcasting reels and am happy with them all. The MB which is the least expensive of my 4 is also my most liked. All my reels are atleast a 7.1:1 gear ratio or higher, I can't stand slow reels. Just my preference.
  2. In my experience, my weighing of hard baits have been pretty much spot on. With baits like spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, jigs etc the listed weight on the package will be less then actual total weight, for reasons that DVT did mention.
  3. I use 6th sense also, a quality product.
  4. Congrats on the PB, enjoy the high!
  5. I use both, they both catch fish, can't go wrong with ither.
  6. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/165064-aquarium-thread/ Im into it.
  7. I would recommend PLine Technical snap in size 1 or 2. Most times I use #1 for lmb. The larger size #3 gets use in my saltwater fishing. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/P-Line_Technical_Snap/descpage-TPBB.html?from=basres
  8. I use both the speed clips and p-line technical snaps. Both work well with the technical snap easier to use. I don't remove slip rings from my baits, haven't seen any need to. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/P-Line_Technical_Snap/descpage-TPBB.html?from=basres
  9. Welcome, enjoy the forums.
  10. I really like the Hayabusa WRM 951 wide gap hooks. I use 4/0 size for 5" soft stick baits. These are quality hooks and work well for me. Occasionally I'll use the owner twistlock light in open water. When fishing around heavier cover I prefer to have my plastic threaded up over the knot, and with the twist lock hook the knot is exposed.
  11. Islander fan here! Playing better since Doug Weight took over for Capuano, 12-5-2
  12. I use a H2O Xpress 7 ft heavy/fast. A *** *** reel in 8:1.1 40 lb power pro.
  13. Thanks guys, it felt great just to be floating around on the boat after three months of nothing. Looking forward to trip #2.
  14. Hit a local lake by me for a few hours on Sunday. With the air temps close to 60* , I figured get out for the first 2017 trip. This was the coldest water i remember fishing with surface temps being 36/37*. 15% was still covered with ice. I managed three total, which I was happy about, a 1, a 2, and a 3 lber. Fished a variety of lures, but all came on a 6th sense crush flat 75x in around 5 ft of water.
  15. Just in time for the new King Kong movie that's coming out.
  16. Rigged and ready the night before.
  17. I use sniper, same reasons as mentioned in above posts.
  18. I prefer faster reels. All mine are atleast 7.1 and up. I don't crank any deeper than 10'. Had a 5.1 for a bit, but didn't care for it and sold it. Im right handed and all my reels are left handed.
  19. What it looks like to me when I have had to clean the drain a Couple times and pull out a clump of hair would be a dead rat.
  20. Welcome, enjoy the forums!
