  1. The main sudden in the Toro to the winch is 5 lbs of drag, and added spool amount. Don't get me wrong. If I find someone on here selling one when I am liking I am getting the Toro, and I will do my best to get the Toro.
  2. They do BO all at once for free. Now if you want they can break it yup but it cost you. You can also cancel parts of an order and reorder it with another. They offered to do this for me, but I declined because I have mkay of my order waiting on the rat, and if I cancel, my back order items that are on are once again on back order. My understanding is they full BO items when they come stock than fill new orders. But patients is a virtue in fishing, and apparently when ordering tackle at times to...
  3. 2nd best is northern pike. Nothing like fighting long toothy critters. I hope to add musky to this list this year.
  4. Okay, so this year is my big year. I want to break my personal best for a bass (6.2lb) & northern (31 in Can't remember lbs). I also want to fish for my first musky. My problem is with my musky set up. I bought an Okuma ABF last year, and it is just too heavy, and to be honest overkill. Now I would love a Abu Garcia Toro NAcI, but honestly I think again it is overkill. What it your thoughts on a Revo Winch. (5:4.1)? My thought is with the low torque for the bigger baits I would be fine there. Also at I think 16 lbs drag I would be covered for larger pike and a med musky.
  5. Spro originally said early 2015, so the date is strictly controlled by the provider. And I'm in the same boat on waiting on a back orders. In the same order of the bbz I have some Berkley plastics that had a arrival date of unavailable. I think they finally got a shipment date of early March.
  6. I did the same. I ordered one on the black Friday sale and am counting down 2/5 the started shipment date. I also ordered the morning dawn color. With the overall size of 10 in I originally got it on mind to fish for monster northern and musky. I fish this shallow lake that the big fish thrive on top water baits. But I still might gear it towards bass.
  7. Funny you said that. Our anniversary is coming up and I told her she is going to the spa and getting her hair and nails done. The first words out of get mouth are "and what are you buying yourself".. I might need to package the reel and rod in a anniversary/fathers day special for myself. And the seems I will just order.. Always easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask to buy it... lol
  8. Nope it is inevitable.. The question is how my butt kissing am I going to have to do the get the wife to agree.
  9. I was going to say clear. That lake is a perfect all around lake in my opinion. Look at eagle lake Maplegrove. Another great lake for monster poke and musky with walleye.
  10. I guess it is preference. But sometimes to get your quality you need to pay a little more, but that isn't always the rule. I could also go on for pages and list lures and makers until I can't type anymore. There are so many factors, such as what do you have, what is your style, and where are you using it? So I guess the simplest answer is do research, and find out what do you want to try. I know this year I have spent the most I have ever spent since I got back into fishing. 90% of it was things I have heard people talk about, and seen on unboxing videos. I plan on trying it all out and just having fun. Don't rule out expensive baits either. You might find something that peeks your interest. I know this happened to me when I got into swim baits. I said I would never spend $20 on a lure....... I was wrong... dead wrong. So keep an open mind.
  11. Thanks to Travis23 I now have 5 new Storm baits coming. And I promised myself I would stop spending until I saved up for my Musky Combo and swim baits I wanted.. Don't see this one happening.
  12. Buy less!?!?! Blasphemy! ! I just look harder for sales to save off the top end. But I think that manufacturers are going crazy when it comes to boats. I mean they have gone the limits with the bass boat. It is about the widest and longest it is going to get. I dont think it is going to be able to get any lower in the water, and it seems like the only tactic they have right now is what perks can you get. Well that and a bigger engine. That on itself is insane! I mean the price of a boat is dictated on the size engine, and you can sometimes almost double the cost buy upgrading to the top of the line. That being said.. I would sell my first born and trade my wife for a nice Skeeter decked out.
  13. And you did... I see no problem here...
  14. I use a MH FA 6'6 Abu Garcia for smaller cranks and swims up to an once. I currently have 30lb braid, and I am getting a H FA 8" Abu Garcia that will take up to 4oz swims in a couple of months. I think I might run 50 plus on that one. But keep in mind the reel you are using to.
  15. The amount of tackle you can fit in a reg. Magnum bag will shock you. I have 6 3700's in mine and 2 3600's, but you can fit 2 more 3600's than what I have, PLUS you have other pockets and areas to hold misc gear like snips, plastics, and what ever else you feel like you need to bring. Below is my Mag bag and a pic of most of my 3700 boxes. I mean if you are the kind that EVERYthing needs to have its own spot go bigger. ( this last pic was PRE holiday bait money spending.. So add about another $500 in gear.. Lol)
  16. Ultimately I would like to have one container per style, but my collection of softs isn't large enough to require more.
  17. I just picked one of these up from TW. I like it, but not in love with it for plastic storage.
  18. Original bag, but store them in a box and when i go out I put them into there own separate bag to carry. Unless you know what can mix with I wouldn't mix. I have put plastics into a of their own to find them melted mess...
  19. I'm like you (down to being from MN, north metro area, but have a boat. My boat is small though and I can't store tackle in it. So I carry a Cabelas magnum bag. It holds 6 3600's and 4 3400's. My 3600's each have cretin groupings. One is ment for hard baits, another is for lipless. Another is frog/to waters. I only carry 2 3400's and those are for weights, and a small musky collection of gear.
  20. Ha ha ha.. The monkey struck again! $100 on drop shot gear and 1 or 2 lures I wanted.
  21. I got enough to make roughly 10 for about that $50 Mark, and the next set I don't need as much so the savings will continue. I made one the other night to treat it out and love it. I know come Monday on my day off I will be making more.
  22. You know, I don't think I have ever posted a hello. So let's me start by saying sorry. So let me continue by telling you a little but about myself. I'm a 31 y/o from MN, and have lived here all my life. I have been fishing since I was a little kid with my grandpa. But unfortunately without a real role model in the fishing section I never really got serious about the sport, much less get to know there is more to it than just slapping a worm on the hook. Since my "reintroduction" back into fishing I have been trying to lean as much as I can. I still fall short on understanding all the ins and outs, but I am open to knowledge. I have enjoyed my interaction with all of you on the forums, and enjoy learning all that I can. Thanks
  23. I have a small fishing boat and if the wind is to bad I always anchor. If it is calm or slight wind I like to drift and troll.
  24. Look at outcast touch down jigs.. I believe that is what t that jig is.
  25. 1/2 price is a great deal! Not a z man fan, but a deal is a deal.
