Is A Club Right For Me.
In a team you don't combine? Or you weigh separate? I looked under the local list for Minnesota and seen a couple of clubs in the area. So I will start looking there a little more.

Is A Club Right For Me.
It's hard to say. I think I should crawl before I run, but if someone knew what kind of a partner they are getting I would tourney. It's not that I just picked up a rod yesterday, but I do want to refine my skills. Personal opinions on what is best.

Is A Club Right For Me.
After reading a post on one of the main forms about fishing with a pro got me thinking. Would it be beneficial for me to join a club to work with someone, watch and learning, while doing what I enjoy. If so, what steps do I take? What do I need to know? What is the average cost of joining? Would anyone care to give some advice?

Fishing With A Pro
I would love to get pointers and just spend a day on the water with a pro. Too understand just a portion of everything that goes into what basically is ethology. Understanding and tricking an animal in the presentation of a lure. And the fact that these pros do it so naturally and with such ease. On top of that, you have access to this priceless treasure trove.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Ahh.. I thought that was it, but never looked at Megabass they closely. Too rich for my blood. But I have to admit they put a lot of detail into their lures. I seen the review of the Pop Max and the details in that lure are great.

Trusty Home Defense Gun
I carry my S&W 9mm with home defense rounds next to my bed, but if I had time any of my guns I would consider using except my .22. I often joke with my wife that we have enough guns to arm everyone on the house once over. Currently have: 12g Mossberg Maverick Remington model 7400 30.06 Ruger 10/22 Ruger American .243 & a S&W 9mm

What Now?
I have been out of the fishing season since October.. with all the -0° weather in MN ice fishing is picking up, but this big man refuses to go on the ice. The first month or so I was okay. I put away my gear, watched fishing videos, and watched unboxing TW videos. (Note that is lure propaganda!) As the winter drags on though it is getting worse. I now look for reasons to take out the tackle. I can't count how many times the wife tells at me to put it away. I love when my LTB and FH come so I have a reason to take it out. Come March I will be looking at replacing hooks. Looking at what new technique I want to try for the season, and getting my poles setup. (Oiled, new line, knock off the dust) Just wish for some time off to go to the sportsman show next weekend

Tackle Question?
I recently upgraded what I was using for plastics. I use to carry what little I had in my main bag in a side pouch. I than had to upgrade to a small bag separately, and used the free bass master bag for all my plastics. But this to didn't last long. I just purchased a large Plano bait storage bin. From experience, the plastic shoe boxes work okay, but larger bags of Sanko's didn't fit well side to side. I still plan on using my side bag to bring small amounts to the lake versus my large bin now.

Maybe I Am Adding It Wrong? Wheres The Savings!?
Flash and blades seem to put me back the most. So I am shipping around to try to find some cheap.

Lol if you have them in Orange, Yellow, and Red color sets we might need to talk. Lol

Maybe I Am Adding It Wrong? Wheres The Savings!?
There is a pride thing, but mostly I am looking for color combinations that your local GM and BPS wont carry.. I have been looking at Ebay and seeing if I can find some lots of items, but I think I might find some off CL or something and modify if I can... Or find someone again who makes them.

Maybe I Am Adding It Wrong? Wheres The Savings!?
Okay so I have been wanting to expand my inline selection, but the price and limited choices of colors have me pondering what is best. So recently I went online to a lure making site that sells parts, and I went through all that I would need to make a mid sized inline (Not musky size but just a hair under). The price I keep coming up with is roughly $20 a lure.. So I was thinking that i must be adding something wrong, because to only save a couple of dollars whats the big savings of making your own? Yeah I know there is a pride thing in it of making and catching something with it. Has anyone else had experiance in crunching these numbers? What was on the list was: Magnum blades Clevices Metal Beads Brass Body Sinker Hooks Flashabou And I didnt even include the split rings, heat shink if I wanted to go that route, coils, and line wire itself. I know there was a guy here in MN that I use to buy his lures for $!0 a pop! It was a great deal, and I still cant figure out how he was able to make them and still turn a profit. I know there are some prices that are minimized the more that are made, such as buying beads in bulk and clevices, and bodies,

The $25,000 Question
Lol.. only boating 1/2 the year if we are lucky. What I wouldn't do to move from MN to FL. But I love our lakes, and outdoors. Even in the heart of or state there are lakes everywhere. I mean where else could you go musky fishing from a dock while on an hour lunch break from your corporate desk job?

The $25,000 Question
Boat and hand digg a pond... but I am a cheap #&$....

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
That was one of the items last year I seem and was eyeing. I got it thought this year during the black Friday sale. I was surprised. I only got a couple things from the black 25 days sale. Everything else was something that was referred to me or something I have always wanted to try.

Good to know. I have my big fish/ Heavy lure set up picked out. And I think by bass opener (May) I should be able to get the setup and one of these Lucky's. What I have planed to but is the Abu Garcia REVO Toro NaCl Generation 3 Casting Reel with the Abu Garcia Volatile Casting Rods in 8' MH (For lures 1/2 to 3oz) If I have to step down I will on the reel and get the Revo Winch

Rat-L-Trap Lures
Stimulate what's around. If there are Perch get perch, but a silver or chartreuse are always a winner in most lakes.

Treble Hook Covers
Thank you for the insight so far. I do like to change lures a lot so made me think about that aspect. And I would of thought they wouldn't take up that much room ... might still look into it considering the cheap price of them.

Too Much Tackle?
I think we need to accept the bait monkey. Sure a monkey can rip off your face, but I picture my monkey as a capuchin monkey. Wearing a diaper

Treble Hook Covers
A quick question and consensus among users. I was thinking of picking up 100 of the treble hook covers on eBay for $7. I want to know from those who use them, are they worth it? Do they help keep your hooks from intertwining? And is there a difference from experience from the $7 for 100 & the 12 for $6?

Big Change For Bps Fishing Classic
Still can't wait until they build the giant BPS at the new expansion site at Mall of America. First big BPS other than the small little ones.
