  1. I have heard that about the senko. The cheap ones don't have the same action on the down fall. Might be a buoyant substance they use?
  2. My grandpa stopped fishing a while ago, and last year Igot all of his fishing tackle and rods. I still have all his rods and reels in my basement, and the tackle I have put away in my box, but there are older pieces (Like this one) I have set aside. Could I go to a framing place and have it framed? Can they do that?
  3. So I was going through my lures and I came across and older lure that my grandpa had. When I went online to try to find out some more information about the lure the company even says that it was discontinued. When it was in production they claimed it was a good lure that caught fish, and you can try online store to find it. But when I went online it wasn't too hard. So to the question, when searching I found someone selling one for a decent amount of money but the title claims... "VINTAGE"... This term and many others like Antique and classic kill me, because what is vintage? So than with this lure, under your defenition is it vintage? Would me repainting the head the original white wreck it?
  4. Below is what I was talking about with the padding. It doesn't 100% block out rattle but helps.
  5. Welcome back into fishing and into the forum. It is a rocky road to start from beginning. But great because you can customize your box to exactly what you are fishing.
  6. I wouldn't know. I have never tried either.. I have headed good things about the lizards but to be honest. I'm not that confident on using them, nor now how to properly use them.
  7. I fixed the problem with hooks bouncing around and jumping slots. There is a foam padding that people will sometimes use in drawers to prevent things sliding around. Or even under a microwave.. (anyways I will try to find a pic.), but that stuff glued to the inside top of the box.... perfect! I have never had a hook move slots and the rattle is much quieter.
  8. Holy crap that's funny..
  9. I to use skirted frogs over cover. You are not getting the open water I feel to make the legs useful. And at this point the bas is looking at the commotion and outline. So not so much on detail. When I have open water I try to mimic real with legged. Herr there is nothing but the bait to hone in on. I will sometimes use a moded frog with shorter shirt and walk the dog in the open.
  10. I just picked up a ish R2S smalls from TW. paint.. Okay. Hooks... good.. did it perform... ? Bathtub is the Only water around not frozen... And I don't think it's deep enough.
  11. They look good. Good luck to you guys getting them.
  12. /slaps forehead..... north and south have nothing to do with being down stream... gravity dictates the flow... sometimes it flows north... Seriously.. And they let us play with sharp hooks....
  13. My latest purchase(s).... But I promiss I am done until I get my musky combo... (Fingers crossed)
  14. That's great. Lol Spend more to save on shipping only to spend more to get it faster for less. And that ladies and gentlemen is how the bait monkey gets us.
  15. No.. turns into $50 because I want free shipping.
  16. I did the same. Just bought a new rod and reel for only drop shot. I just got the shipment in from TW last night. So I am stoked to try them out. But I got so many new things from poppers and top waters to I think I picked up the DT 16.... duo many in between..
  17. Okay, so.. I might have to go into dangerous territory and shop on tackle warehouse for a holder...
  18. Okay quick question. I just bought a bunch of Roboworms. Is it okay to put them say in a Plano hard case ment for worm storage? I know some like Berkley leaches dry up rock hard, and some will melt together. I just want to know what's safe.
  19. Lucky, thank you. I am decently considering the naci and reg Toro. Once I get the cash I am looking to hit the forums asking for one around 175 to 200 range. I know eBay had them for $200. The rod I was looking at was the volatile in the h for 4 oz lures which is the rod suggested by Abu for the Toro. I'm interested in musky fishing, I think I need steps right now. So if I go Toro with the volatile and later step up to the st croix it would good.
  20. Just got my shipment in today.. I have to say I am impressed with Roboworms colors. You see some things online and when you get it you are not impressed, but this wasn't the case.. great coloration. Plus some other lures I had to get to try out.
  21. Too much to list, but some highlights include Live target wakes R2S whopper popper R2S smalls S waver Mad dog shell cracker and 2 bbz shad in 4 & 6 in. But in all I have spent I think over $300 in New baits alone this year. And it's only January... oh my....
  22. I am looking at an Abu Garcia myself that throws 4oz.. I know my current rod is cheap.... And I mean cheap. I got it at Cabelas and its called a whopem stick.. I think they said it was an of brand of ugly... But it was $39 I think. And I paid like $50 for my okuma reel... And don't get me wrong.. it works, but just wry to heavy for casting.
  23. Yeah.. I am heavily leaving towards the better reel, but this is my first reel musky set up. My 1st was something that would just Handel the lures. So it is great to get insight from people who know better. Always appreciated.
  24. But if I find a cheap NacI I am going with that.
  25. I mostly will be throwing double cow girls, and other inline. I have some 4oz baits, and a mini bull dog. Nothing huge, and that is why I was wondering about the winch series.
