  1. How are their actions different? Don't they both just walk the dog?
  2. Weird. That's the reason I switched to the KVD. Because I had a hard time walking the spook. It was operator error though being new. I can now walk them both easily.
  3. The Heddon Zara 4.5" is an iconic walk the dog type topwater lure. I actually have a few in different sizes and models and they are very fair priced at about $4-$8 dollars. I have caught a few fish on them but never did great. Perhaps I didn't fish it enough. Well, when I got more into bass fishing I got a KVD Sexy Dawg 4.5" for $8 in perch color I believe and love it. I've caught so many bass on it. I like it more than *gasp* topwater frogs. Things hit the Sexy Dawg and it's a great topwater strike. I've caught a few northern on it too and there are a lot of musky in the lakes that I fish that I've had strike it. Luckily I've never lost it. If I do lose it do you think it's worth getting another KVD Sexy Dawg in perch or would a Zara Spook be an equal replacement in action and thus effectiveness at a lower cost?
  4. If I'm fishing Senko's under docks and catching about 1-2 fish per 30 docks do you think changing color could result in more/less caught fish?
  5. Ragetail Toad, Senko, and KVD Sexy Dawg.
  6. Most here in central MN are still pretty good. You can order from Walmart too and get free shipping after a certain price.

  8. Thanks for the advice! I'll try it out.
  9. Don't know if you don't try. Plus, it could be a fun experience win or lose. You could also meet people who you could learn a lot from. Always something to learn.
  10. No. I'm a horrible fisherman. lol.
  11. None taken. And you didn't offend me. I remember when I used to duck hunt all the time. I made my classes at noon so I could duck hunt every morning. Talking to my similar aged friend who hada wife and kids I couldn't believe he stopped duck hunting. I said, you've got to make time for it. I couldn't believe he couldn't squeeze one or two trips out. After seeing how busy he was now I understand why it was so hard for him to do it. And a boat makes it more work, yes. But in works out in the end.
  12. Advice. But 'put more work in' isn't the most insightful advice. lol That's like saying, "What's the best technique for the fall" and the answer being, "Fish more". lol. Not too helpful.
  13. Spoken like a young man. And so judgemental too. lol. I just bought a new house a few months ago am dealing with all that that entails including a huge lawn that needs constant maintenance, moles in my yard, rental properties and their issues including mowing their lawns and they are all 50 minutes away, a fiance, 2 jobs, family issues with sick parents who live 2 hours away round trip, and a host of other issues. I'd love to be able to fish more. And fishing is a priority for me but it takes a backseat to all of my actual responsibilities in life. Everyday is planned to a T to get things that need to be done done. Plus, I just bought a truck last week, so I wasn't able to tow my boat before than anyway. Either way, I wouldn't have had time to fish.
  14. Thanks. Yeah, here's the video. I tried it this fast and missed a bass. I'm wondering if it's because I was retrieving it too fast.
  15. Put work in. lol. Works the reason I've only been able to fish twice this year.
  16. I've been fishing the same lake in MN for 6 years. Always caught good bass from about 1lbs-3lbs on average. Sometimes a few smaller ones. But the lake always seemed to put out nice fish. This year I've gone out twice (sad, I know) and we've caught about 15 fish in 2 hours of fishing total. All the fish we caught were under 1lbs. Used the same lures I've always used and same locations. What's going on? Where did all the 'average' sized fish for this lake go? I'd think maybe they are in deeper water here in the summer months, but that's never stopped bigger fish from being near the shore and docks all year long the last 6 years.
  17. You're very lucky. My fiance doesn't like fishing. :-( Plus, you can 'buy' stuff for her and borrow it. lol
  18. Great video! If you like snaps you might want to try these KVD Fastachs. I love them. They work great and aren't very expensive. I find them at Walmart. I did a review on them here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/142904-review-mustad-kvd-fastach-clip-swivel/ Could you do a video on the Ima Skimmer? lol. I haven't seen any videos on how to use them yet. Some people say use walk the dog with them. However, in this video, not an instructional one, the guy fishes it so fast he's basically skimming it across the surface. I'm wondering what the best way to fish it is.
  19. I tried to do it like walk the dog. Maybe I was doing it to fast. I was really skimming it pretty quick.
  20. I'm interested too. I'll let you guys buy them and test them out for me. lol. In Field & Streams testing Trokar hooks didn't do so well. They tended to have point bend issues I recall.
