What's The Best Baitcasting Reel For Under $250?
My friend bought his first new baitcaster last year, a Bass Pro one that was crappy and didn't work immediately out of the box. I told him to send it back in but he wouldn't. He's sort of stubborn like that. He said this year that he wants to buy a good baitcaster under $250. I said he could probably find a good one for less than that. So, what would the best baitcaster under $250 be?

Cabelas Tournament Zx Spinning And Baitcasting Rods On Sale For $69
I did a review on these rods below. They are great rods, and a smokin' deal at $69. Usually $99. I just bought 3 more and now I have nothing left to purchase for fishing. (whew!). On sale right now at Cabelas. Spinning and Casting. Thought you might want to know in case you're in the market for a new rod. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/139456-review-cabelas-tournament-zx-baitcasting-and-spinning-rod/?hl=%2Bcabelas+%2Btournament

Wd40 For Rust Protection
This. Or desiccant bags which are cheap. I don't put anything in mine, but I made sure they were open and air dried before I put them away for the season.

Anyone Try The New Rapala Walking Minnow Yet?
I tried the Rapala Waking Minnow, Biovex Wake bait, and Arashi Wake Bait. I like the Arashi a lot but not too impressed with the Rapala or Biovex. Bc of this next year I am the Ima Skimmer and Ima Wake bait.

Rust
I've always left plastics on hooks and never had a rust problem, however, I also open my tackle boxes after each trip. Franco is right about holes and airflow.......Plano knows what they are doing.

Rust
I put everything right in the tackle box and go home, but when I get home I take the tackle boxes out of the storage locker, place them on my boats deck and open them up and let them dry out over night. One poster made a good point stating that the Z-Rust and other rust inhibitive producfs eventually wear out.

Best Buzzbait/spinnerbait Tackle Box?
I recall someone starting a thread on this awhile ago. I searched and couldn't find it. But I thought I'd share what I'd found. I have tried all sorts of buzzbait/spinnerbait boxes. Flambeau (with and without Z-rust), Plano, and some others. I've tried over 5 different models made exclusively for buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. (I can say that the Flambeau large spinnerbait box with Z-Rust's top sits high above the lures and if you put any pressure on it will cause a crack in the lid. Don't ask me how I know. lol). I've tried flats ones, square ones, long ones, all kinds and this is the best I've found. It's also not that expensive. I found mine at Fleet Farm. It's the Plano 350500 Hydro Flo Spinnerbait Stow Away. It ranges from $8-12 dollars depending on where you find it. http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?BCCID=108&PID=1324 - Although it says "spinnerbait" it's holds buzzbaits well also. - Seems big at first, but it fills up quickly. (I thought this is considerably larger then the last ones I've tried and was worried about it's large size. But with my buzzbaits and spinnerbaits combined it got filled up.) - Has top and bottom ventilation holes which is a really nice feature. - Holds a lot of lures. 72 to be exact. - Not expensive. Ranges from $8-$11. - Built very sturdily. I keep my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits in the same tackle box and I've noticed that these tackle boxes always fog up after I put my lures in them. I am guessing that because of the skirts they retain more water on them then say a crankbait or stickbait. So, having ventilation on top and bottom of the box is really nice. I always open up my tackle boxes after fishing so the lures don't rust since I've had some lures rust on me. With the ventilation holes in this one it's not a problem. (I have a Flambeau Z-Rust tackle box but didn't realize that the Z-Rust stops working after awhile, which makes sense. With holes in the tackle box this isn't a problem anymore.) So, if you are looking for the perfect tackle box for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, take a look at this one. I couldn't be happier.

Zerust
I always open my boxes when I get home. The next time I fish I close them up and put them back in the locker.

Storing Fishing Tackle In The Cold?
So last year I left all of my bass fishing tackle in my boat in an unheated pole barn which I stored up North where it probably got to -10 or more a few times. I had all of my tackle including reels, soft plastics, and everything else. This year everything worked fine. However, my brother said it probably wasn't a good idea to leave all of my soft plastics in temperature like that, so i took all of my tackle and brought inside my house. I left my rods and reels outside in my garage which will get cold eventually. But I figure the rods and reels can take it. I also assume that rods, reels, and tackle face inclement weather conditions when they are stored by the manufacture and travel in transport trucks. I also figure the rods and reels are fine because rods and reels are used for icefishing all the time as are soft plastics. So, are baits, specifically soft plastics and rods/reels affected by cold weather?

Any Reason Not To Leave Rods And Reels In Boat Rod Locker When Stored?
So, I'm storing my boat at my mom's place in a pole barn out in the woods. Not really worried about thieves. I'm wondering if there is any reason not to store my rods and reels in the boat's rod locker?

Preventing Mice In Boat During Storage?
So I am storing my boat in my mom's pole barn which is up north in the woods and has a lot of mice. I never had a problem last year but I don't want to say I never had a problem last year and then have problems this year. A friend said to put some brillo in the exhaust port so mice don't crawl into the motor and build a nest. Is there anything anyone on here does to prevent mice from geting into their boat and has anyone here ever had a problem with mice and their boat?

What Is Your Favorite Buzzbait?
Interesting design. I wonder if the o-ring prevents pressure and stress on the wire when a fish is on it thus allowing the lure to not get so easily beaten up.

Cool. Thanks. I'll send the info. Bobby, didn't you say you always use a trailer hook on your buzzbaits or am I wrong?
