  1. Have you ever used a Cavitron? We've tried others but haven't had success as we did with the Cavitrons. We tried them at the same time and something about the Cavitron the fish love.
  2. Just take them out and reel them in slowly. I like to jerk and retrieve but we use them for my bro's gf because she doesn't know how to fish well. She just likes to reel in straight. Well, with a weightless fluke on she catches ton of fish that way.
  3. You guys who fish worms often, how do you fish them?
  4. Often imitated, never duplicated apparently.
  5. Crazy. On my friends lake we are fortunate and catch big bass on buzzbaits all day long.
  6. I'll look into that. I usually follow up with a Senko and it's worked ok a few times.
  7. Interesting. I love the Ragetail Toads. How durable are these compared to the Ragetail Toads?
  8. I've noticed that a lot of smaller fish will blow up under the pad, throw the frog up, but not really be big enough to grab the frog and thus you get a hit that you 'missed' but in reality the fish never had it in it's mouth.
  9. Biovax wake bait, Rapala waking minnow. I do like the Ima Roumba (wake bait) and Arashi wake baits.
  10. I've tried 2 other Senko knock-offs (Yum Dingers, BPS Stickbaits) and haven't had nearly the success. I guess Senko's just have the right amount of salt that makes them soft and sink at a rate that fish love. I used the method below with a Senko that I've used on over 7 fishing trips and it lasted from the end of last year to this year and caught over 60 fish on in including sunnies, crappies, rockbass, and perch that are notorious for pulling at the bait and tearing it up and swallowing it because they are too small. Eventually a little perch tore it in half.
  11. Enjoy! A boat is so much freedom and better fishing.
  12. I do love my Terrova. However, 2 things I don't like. Stowing and deploying a lot wastes time and is a pain. Don't know why they don't have a rope to pull up with like cablesteers. Also, no spotlock on the foot pedal so you have to use the remote. The new Minn Kota Ulterra fixes that by having auto stow/deploy and a spotlock button on the foot pedal. If I had that I'd never use the remote.
  13. Pitched too high with the original prop or the new one?
  14. Did you blow a seal/gasket?
  15. I lost my brand new Ima Roumba in a tree and need to replace it. TW usually ships fast but the lures like $15 and shipping would have been like $6 I think. Anywhere sell it that wouldn't be so expensive with shipping?
  16. I have a 2000 Mercury 115hp outboard with aluminum prop. What is the correct psi for the prop nut?
  17. Thanks guys. He gave me a 13" prop with 21 pitch. He said at WOT it should be around 4,900-5,250 rpms. He said to test it out and return it if it's wrong.
  18. I have a 2000 Cretliner Fishhawk, 17-1/2' foot with a 2000 Mercury 115hp outboard. It came with a 12.5" aluminum prop with a 23 pitch. I called to order a new aluminum prop and the guy said that prop is way to small. I just need a general purpose prop for fishing. No skiing or anything. Is the guy right? Do I have the wrong prop size? If so, what would be the right prop?

Open water with a KVD Sexy Dawg (walk the dog type lure).
  20. Like the above posters have said always go right to your credit union. They'll almost always be cheaper than the banks. Checking with a few places banks, credit unions, first is never a bad idea. Tell them you're shopping around and see what they can do for you.
  21. So you guys are saying run a SS prop and the props hub will break before the outboard's lower unit will? It appears to be a #77350A45 which is a 12.5 diameter with a 23 pitch and RH rotation. Didn't find any on craiglist.
  22. I was always told not to use a SS prop in lakes with objects that might be with with the motor because a SS prop won't bend or break and it'll f'up the lower unit while an aluminum prop would break first, saving the lower unit. That's wrong?
  23. But wouldn't a SS prop cause more damage to my lower unit if something is hit while the prop will be fine? I'd rather sacrifice the prop than the LU.
  24. I was going almost full speed with my Minn Kota 80lbs trolling motor on my 17' Crestliner Fishhawk and must of hit a rock or log. When I got home I noticed that I had broken off one of the blades of my prop. It was a prop that had been fixed earlier because the edges were bent up so it might have had a stress issue at one point. Either way I need a new prop. I use this boat for fishing, not skiing or pulling weight. It's a 17-1/2' Crestliner Fishawk with a 2000 Mercury 115 horse. What's the cheapest place to get a prop and what pitch is best for my needs?
