  1. My boat was at the shop and a bunch of leaves and willows I think got into it and stained the carpet. I was going to vacuum up what's in there, I think the dealership already did most of it, and was gonna use my carpet cleaner with hot water. But I've never done this before and don't want to do the exact wrong thing. How should I clean the stains from my boat carpet?
  2. I was gonna order a few, great price at $9, but I they don't make a "shallow" version. Hopefully they make a shallow version next. Also, I do like fully clear boxes so I can see everything inside from every angle. These do appear to have a lot of nice upgrades for a great price. The single latch that is writable is nice.
  3. I want to pre-rig some new plastics on the hooks but it would be about 2 weeks head of time. Plastics like Keitech Easy Shiners, Zman SwimZ's, Rabid Baits Fox Tail, and Rapala Crush City swimjigbaits. But I wonder if I open the packaging and pre-rig them 2 weeks to a month in advance if the plastics will dry out? I do know to keep the Zman plastics away from the other plastics because of melting together. Thanks in advance.
  4. Thank you. I actually did that first. I happen to have the dual disease of being a lake trout/salmon (trolling, thus the kicker) and a bass fisherman (thus the need for the dual Raptors).
  5. I have 2 Minn Kota Raptors on my Alumacraft Competitor 205 with a Suzuki 250hp on it. However, I'm adding a 9.9 Suzuki kicker for trolling to the port side. I bought 2 Minn Kota sandwich brackets to use with the kicker so that I could move the port side Raptor from the main motor to the kicker motor but the tech says he doesn't think it will install that way. I have included a pic of what I'd like. I'm also lookning at using Power Pole brackets or even a custom bracket. I am in Central Minnesota and if anyone knows a custom metal fabricator who could help, that would work, too. Any ideas on how to make this work? Thanks in advance.
  6. Just got one 4 months ago, would have liked to get this one. 😆
  7. Awesome! How much more are those than a regular Suzuki 250?
  8. Yeah, trees, lilypads, weeds, docks. Fish lakes like Forest Lake and Green Lake in Minnesota.
  9. For bass, I've only used braid to hook for the last 15 years and done fine.
  10. This is funny because I just spooled my new reels with Sufix 832 braid. Do you like it? My older reels, the ones I used for jigging have Power Pro 30lbs. on it. Funny you brought up mono backing because I totally forgot about that. I added this Power Pro to these reels nearly 16 years ago and do recall adding about 7 feet of mono backing to them which shouldn't make too much of a difference.
  11. Recently I tried Lake Trout jigging. People stated that all I needed was my bass gear and I'd be set. They were right for the rods but the reels failed me. Wherein the spinning reels worked great and had plenty of line (not a surprise as spinning reels naturally hold more line than bass baitcasting reels) the bass baitcasting reels did not. Using my Abu Garcia Revo Rockets which were spooled to the max they ran out of line at 180 feet. I'm using 30lbs. Power Pro braid and according to the chart that should be 140 yards/420 feet of line! Even if it was maxed out at 50lbs. line it should have 100 yards/300 feet of line. Here is a pic of my reel. Do Reel manufacturers lie about their reels line capacity?
  12. My friend was a tournament fisherman and he said any electronics over 3 years old lose their value such as if it was $3k new don't add that to the value because it isn't worth that anymore. I think Solixs are starting Gen 5 or something like that soon.
  13. Congrats! Kayak's are nice but there is a lot more freedom with a boat and ability to bring other people fishing with you. I looked at all lot of places like Overton's, Midway USA, and others and surprisingly found almost everything I needed at Walmart online for cheaper sometimes half the price. Stuff like bulk lifejackets, throw cushion, dock lines, boat bumpers, and others. These are really nice. Dockmate Snubber Dock Line, 4'
  14. I believe the new Quest models did away with the heading sensor and it's built into the head unit now.
  15. I had a non-adjustable hitch with that greaseless ball and the plastic cap broke off after a year.
  16. I use my brother's F150 and he has a Curt adjustable, dual ball hitch on it with a 2" and 2-5/16" inch balls on it to pull his shack and my boat. His iceshack uses the 2-5/16" inch ball with no shock when pulling. It is approx. 1,000lbs. lighter. When I use his truck to pull my Alumacraft Competitor 205 with the 2" ball there is a thunk when starting and stopping. The trailer has a Leverlock hitch on it. Maybe the Leverlock coupler is known for not being as tight and the problem cannot be resolved, I don't know. If that is not the case, what is the best shock absorbing hitch that is good for summer and winter with salt on the roads?
  17. I don't but they are super easy to make. I made a thread on it a few years ago.
  18. I have no clue why 2 of these same threads were made, this one can be deleted.
  19. My 2024 Minn Kota Ulterra changes directions excessively while in AutoPilot. It goes left, right, left, right, very quickly. I had an older regular Ulterra and it was smooth and never like this. It happens whether going fast or slow. Is this a common problem? Anyway to fix it?
  20. What is a long scoop? Do you got a link?
  21. For sure. But that's a user issue. Not a manufacturing problem. I actually had a Wedge one on of my last boats and never forgot to take it off, luckily. lol
  22. Who supplied the Wedge, the dealer or the Lund? Suzuki recommended the My Wedge to me for my Alumacraft.
  23. Just bought an Alumacraft Competitor 205 with a 250hp Suzuki. Emailed Suzuki on how to tow it. They responded with, "Use a My Wedge and then a ratchet strap to tighten the motor down just enough so it doesn't bounce up. Do not crank it down too tight." https://m-ywedge.com/ *** Note, I am not affiliated with My Wedge in anyway. lol
  24. It all depends on the situation. If you're someplace like Florida and you've got a broken down boat and a big storm coming on you, you need to replace your prop and get out of there before the storm hits.
  25. You are correct. I actually upgraded my seats to captains chairs with the cushioned seats, I don't even know which brand they use. I'm getting older and don't need to be breaking my back on hard waves. Once you're spending what I'm spending on most likely my last boat ever best to get it rigged right and enjoy it. Buy once, cry once.
