My friends young son was whipping lures around in the boat.....I put sunglasses on even though it was sunny out. lol
  3. This!!! But switched to the homemade Whopper Frog and never went back. Don't use buzzbaits anymore. Whopper Frog never gets stuck and can be used in anything from open water to lilly pads, to moss, and everything else.
  4. I only use 4 lures now basically. Topwater: 1.) Whopper Plopper 75 2.) Homemade Whopper Frog Underwater: 1.) Wacky Tube Rigged Senko 3.) Nose-hooked Super Fluke
  5. We've had problems with thin weeds getting caught in the joint.
  6. At Cabelas today and saw these new red packaged Whopper Ploppers and the back said new, and improved, weed resistant convex tail. But a hard look it appears to be the same as the original. Sorry the first pic is so cropped, had to crop it to post. What's up?
  7. Have tried T-Rig Senkos before at the same time friends used Wacky rigged. Wacky was always more successful so switched to that and haven't gone back.
  8. Mike's tungsten must be some indestructible material then!!! lol
  9. I didn't realize tungsten chipped. Weird.
  10. Sorry but what is no chip tungsten?
  11. 1st: Get separate batteries for starting and accessories. 2nd: Get a small battery jumper or jumper cables in case your starter dies on the lake or won't start at the landing. 3rd: I switched to sealed batteries and will never go back. I've had batteries flip and put acid all over my boat and it sucks. Sealed batteries cost me the same amount so why wouldn't I. Most times you'll pay a little more but well worth it.
  12. I almost solely buy 2 colors, dark and light. Except when I buy topwaters, I like dark, bone, and clear. I almost always throw the clear. I will say when I'm throwing clear topwater my boat partner is throwing dark and we always seem to catch the same amount of fish.
  13. My favorite spinnerbait is the T-1. Didn't realize they discontinued them. Bummer. I have some War Eagle and don't like them as much.
  14. This catches everything and simple to use. Great for beginners if you want the best chance of catching something.
  15. I like pearl (white) with the chartreuse tail, easy to see when working under docks. This is how I nose-hook mine.
  16. I have some of these. Will have to try it.
  17. I like to nose-hook them with CPS Twistlock, and a piece or rubber tubing. I lose very few now and only replace when they get chewed up. I also use a Owner Mosquito hook. Spinning rod with #20 Power Pro braid in yellow so I can see the line move when they take it.
  18. I'll say this, missed a lot of fish on regular hollow body frogs, Teckel Teckel Sprinker Frogs, and Booyah Toadrunners but when I took regular Booyah Padcrasher frogs and modified them into Whopper Frogs the hookup ratio went to like over 95% and I have never turned out the hooks. I think the fact that the frog is on the move helps a lot in catching them.
  19. That's awesome! 75 is my favorite followed by the 110.
  20. Repopulating the world perhaps? lol
  21. Do it. I'll say that I tried a lot of frogs and can't remember if I tried a KVD Sexydawg but the only one that worked was Booyah Padcrashers. Luckily they are one of the cheapest frogs.
  22. Yep. #6 3 way swivel and CPS Centering Spring.
  23. Great news!!! We've used a lot of Whopper Ploppers and never had an issue with not running properly besides the 90 not running as great which is a common problem, if I'm correct that's partly why they created the 75 which is my favorite WP. I had a lot of bites and few catches with the Teckel and Toadrunner. These homemade Whopper Frogs have about a 95% catch rate which is way better.
