  1. I tried the O rings. Same problem. I switched to a tube and now one may last over 50 bass.
  2. When I used buzzbaits, Cavitron’s were the best by a mile. And great eat customer service too.
  3. I’ve seen them both work all season long. When the fish are aggressive both work, when it slows down a little the Fluke works better or when the fish are smaller.
  4. I've tried Senkos and some knockoffs and always end up with the 5" Senko. I just use those now. I just buy a few packs whenever they go on sale. If you purchase gift certificates from Tackle W. when they are on sale and then use those later to purchase the Senkos when they are on sale you can get a pretty good deal.
  5. With it the Senko Wacky Tube Rigged I’ve had a single Senko last nearly all season. When I do lose them is when sunnies nip the ends off or pull it through the tube.
  6. My 2 spinning rods are always set up with 2 things. 1.) Wacky Tube Rigged Senko 2.) Weedless nose-hooked Superfluke
  7. Good to know. Thanks for all of the help everyone. I've been able to talk my wife into a truck, so we'll see how it goes.
  8. I saw that this reel won Outdoor Life's Best Value Buy for $130 for 2019. They say it casts farther than most reels. What are people who've actually used this reels thoughts on it?
  9. So, I've had a few threads on here about getting a tow vehicle for my Stratus 186VLO. I'd love to get a pickup truck but it's just not in the cards right now. I looked at minivans but the max towing capacity is 3,000-3,500lbs. I have looked at the Subaru Ascent SUV which has a max towing capacity of 5,000lbs. I was able to get my fully loaded boat and trailer weighed today. It weighed 2,960lbs. I was told that when vehicle says max towing capacity they are also including the weight of passengers and gear in the vehicle also and not just the boat and trailer. So, if my fully loaded boat and trailer weigh 2,960lbs. and I add 2 adults, say, 400lbs. that makes it 3,360lbs. for my boat, trailer, people, and gear. If the Subaru Ascent's max towing capacity is 5,000lbs. that leaves a cushion of 1,640lbs. Would this be enough of a cushion? I know that your not supposed to tow anywhere near what the max said and that how much you tow affects your vehicle's ability to drive safely. So, what is the cushion from your max weight and the vehicle's max tow weight, 1,000lbs., 2,000lbs, 4,000lbs.......what is should it be?
  10. If you’ve never had a problem with your foot pedal moving then you’re fine. But I did. It flew off the boat and was only not lost because it was connected with the electric cord. And my boat only does about 40mph. If if you had the new Ranger with the box you just wouldn’t have to put it in there. Problem solved. Obviously enough people had an issue with it then Ranger decided to make it a standard option on their new boats.
  11. On top of the deck, just like this pic. And then in the new Ranger it would be stored in the compartment for travel.
  12. How is is the problem not resolved? I actually don’t like my foot pedal in the center. If I am fishing to the left I move the foot pedal to the left and if I’m fishing to the right I put the foot pedal on the right side. Electric foot pedals when placed on a boat deck are just the right height IMHO, may not be right for other folks.
  13. That's the point. You can store it when transporting such as crossing a lake when it could fly out of the boat or being trailered and when you are fishing the lid is closed and the foot pedal is on top so that you can use it. The foot pedal is not supposed to be used while inside the compartment like cable driven foot pedals are. Electric foot pedals are also a lot lighter than cable driven ones so much more likely to go flying when transporting.
  14. Because Cable Driven trolling motor's foot pedal's are extremely tall and if you don't have it inside a recessed compartment it is so high that it is hard to use especially standing, so having it lowered makes it work. Because Electric Driven trolling motor's foot pedal's are considerably shorter than cable driven's when they are put in a recessed box they are basically level with the boat deck and wouldn't work. Being right on top of the deck is perfect height for electric driven foot pedals. Which is why in the new Ranger the foot pedal is stored in the compartment for travel but put on top of the deck for use.
  15. I think that’s how it’s supposed to be used but you close the lid with the pedal inside when transporting at high speeds.
  16. Because they still make the standard model that will work with cable operated units? The standard model that has been around for decades doesn’t work well for electric models. So they came up with this.
  17. I believe you are only supposed to use this style above deck. If if you want the standard below deck style you can order that too. So so many people are switching to electric driven TMs over cable I can see why this has been invented.
  18. This appears to actually be more for electric TMs where you take it out, close the lid, and then put the foot pedal on top of the lid. You can still order your boat with the standard cutout.
  19. I use a Minn Kota Ulterra so I’ve never liked built-in trolling motor foot pedal boxes like most guys who use cable driven trolling motors like. I even built a custom box riser so my foot pedal would be level with the rest of the boat’s deck. Well, I see that the new 2020 Rangers have an integrated foot pedal box with lid which is so nice. I like it because: 1.) Makes the foot pedal level with the rest of the boat deck. 2.) Keep excess cable inside so it’s not strewn all over the deck when the foot pedal is in use. 3.) Can store the foot pedal inside it when not in use such as transport across the lake or on the road (mine flew out when flying down a lake once). 4.) Can store stuff in the empty compartment area when the foot pedal is in use. Also, according to the video you can still get the standard no-lid shallow foot pedal compartment for your boat that bass boats have historically came with if you so choose. Wow, great job Ranger!!! I suppose enough people are switching to Electric trolling motors vs. cable driven this finally became an issue worth addressing.
  20. Supposedly the dry weight is 1,500lbs so I assumed equipped was around 2,720lbs.
