  1. I had a smallmouth blow up on my KVD Sexy Dawg. I didn't move it after the fish missed. I gave it a few secs and twitched it once and the fish hit it again and I caught it. I'd definitely make sure you have sharp hooks.
  2. I almost always start out with a spook type bait and then if tjsts not working a buzzbait. Recently buzzbaits have been a lot more productive. I'll also start with a buzzbait if there is a lot of weeds.
  3. I did. I got a loan for $7,000 and about a week after I got the boat I realized I needs a better trolling motor. I went to the bank and raised the loan to $8,500 and got a 80lbs. Terrova.
  4. Soft bottom. So should I use a weighted or unweighted T-Rig?
  5. Why does a amT-Rig with a weight not have twisting issues? So in my situation would you use a weighted T-Rig or weightless?
  6. Yeah. I know most people who go after big pike also release them.
  7. Arashis have worked well for me but I haven't banged it off of too many rocks.
  8. If one of us is using a topwater I like one of us to use a below surface lure like spinnerbait or jig. If both of you want to use topwater I'd use a spook type bait.
  9. We are all meant to be food my friend. Some day you will die and if you're not cremated you will be worm food and the circle of life continues.
  10. So you put them on with the factory rubber ring then cut it off and add a zip tie or you just put the zip tie over the factory rubber ring?
  11. So why choose a Carolina Rig over a T-Rig or vice versa? I have water that is about 1 to 6 feet deep with a good amount of weeds that I would like to try to use a weighted T-Rig, unweighted T-Rig, or Carolina Rig with Zoom Super Hogs (because I heard they glide through weeds well) with but not sure which one to try. Also, instead of a barrel swivel with a Carolina Rig why don't people just peg the weight about 12-15" inches above the hook with two bobber stops?
  12. I'm having the same problem with a new Abu Revo SX. Most casts it's fine. But every once and a while it makes a really loud whistling sound. It usually does it twice in a row and then not for another 50 to 80 casts. Weird. And this reel is basically new.
  13. Mine worked well and I try to cast them near or under docks. They really pull fish out. It's awesome, you can see the bass fly out from under the dock to crush them. They are expensive so I've bought mine from Dicks when they are on sale and from Cabelas when they are on sale.
  14. A lot of saltwater sportfish are eaten and served in restaurants such as Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo, and others.
  15. This is even after that. How do I know wjat Gen it is?
  16. Besides a new bass boat somewhere down the line (few years) and 2 new rods for combos that I want better rods on next year (selling the rods) I have really reached the majority of what I need. I have 5 baitcasting set ups and 2 spinning set ups and that's all I really need. I don't have any more room in my current boats rod locker anyway. And with the size of my boat I can usually only put about 4 rods out at a time anyway. But I really have everything covered. I don't need any more rods, tackle boxes, reels, or any of the higher priced items. So, besides the usual small stuff like Senkos or plastics that are lost or destroyed, weights, hooks, and other small items that need to be replaced yearly, there really isn't anything I need to buy for fishing next year. I may buy an Ima Skimmer and Ima Roumba but that's it. I have plenty of lures that I haven't really even used enough yet and some that are still in the box. So, have you ultimately reached the majority of what you need to buy for fishing besides the minor stuff that requires replacing every year?
  17. Thanks. I saw one of the solutions was to put a dime behind the battery. I'm not sure that's a great idea. Is it safe? Also, no one says exactly what remote they have. I have the medium sized Ipilot remote, not the huge fancy one and not the small wrist one, I'm not sure which one they are describing in their posts.
  18. I have a 24v 80lbs thrust Terrova with Ipilot and Autopilot. So when I first get on the water my Ipilot remote doesn't always turn on. Sometimes I have to shake it or keep pushing buttons and eventually it turns on. I was thinking it might be the remote battery, but after searching the net I've seen it could be some other problems. Two of my problems are the fact that I'm probably done fishing for the year and most likely won't get back out again to test out a new remote battery. The other problem is that the 2 year warranty is almost up. I hate to bring it in when it's only a minor remote battery issue. What should I do?
  19. You use the same type of flour for both? Have you ever tried this recipe without the beer?
  20. I think over 1lbs to under 3lbs is good.
  21. So what isn't a sport fish?
  22. The problem with this is there will always be some air pockets and that's where water could form. It's basically impossible to have a fully filled tank I'd think.
  23. I would like to know well in advance so I can plan orders instead of getting an email right before a sale.
