  1. I've never had real success with hollow body frogs. However, I've caught fish on all types of days with my Ragetsil Toad. It's perhaps my favorite lure and catches fish almost all the time. Try letting one sink to the bottom sometime and soak for a few seconds. Sometimes fish love them that way.
  2. I've caught plenty of fish on topwater in bright sunny blue bird days. Especially with a Ragetail Toad.
  3. Is that red reel a Revo Rocket? And if so, do you like it?
  4. I have a Terrova and I move my foot pedal around all the time. If I'm fishing from the right side of the boat, it's on the right. If I'm fishing on the left side of the boat it's on the left. Rarely is it in the center. I want to get a new bass boat and if I did I would not want it to have a recessed foot pedal spot.
  5. I use Marine Stabil if I use gas that has ethanol. I was told by a mechanic that if you use Stabil any point after your new gas is over 7 days old it's a waste. The gas has already done it's damage. So, if you're going to use Stabil, use it right away when you fill up. I also use Seafoam everytime.
  6. Is that with baitcasters, spinning, or both?
  7. What are wind whips?
  8. Really, this is a pretty personal question! I'm good, but can't last 2-4 days like some of these guys! Far from it. lol
  9. Well, I was going to use Power Pro on my two new spinning reels. I have a Shimano Stradic Ci4 and FJ 2500. I have a Plueger Patriach baitcaster with 30lbs. Power Pro that is 6 years old and still going strong. So I've been more than happy with Power Pro. As long as the line keeps working and not breaking off, no reason to put new line on. I'm not fishing tournaments and there is no chance of a state/world record being caught where I'm fishing. However, with hearing about the quality of the newer lines on here I wanted to try some of the new technology and see if it was worth it. I was going to try the Power Pro Super Slick 8 but heard about it having flaking issues and not worth the more expensive price. People on here got me turned onto Sufix 832 in Neon Lime and as I'm a line watcher and needed highly visible line. However, Gary Yamamoto says that he strictly uses original Power Pro in 10lbs for his spinning reels. In this article he talks about going from the 20lbs line to working his way down to 15lbs. and then eventually 10lbs. Gary said Guido Hibdon and other pros also use original Power Pro for tournaments. http://www.insideline.net/weeklynews/2008/08-0529.html However, I am sticking to 15lbs. and 20lbs for now. I have read on here that the Sufix's advantages are: strength, abrasion resistance, increased casting distance and accuracy, reduced line vibration, while the Dyneema fibers provide increased strength and sensitivity, as well as, superior hydrophobic protection (assuming this means the line doesn't absorb water and sink?), smaller diameter, and roundest (don't know why that's important) braid there is. Well, I was beating myself up over which ones to try and my gf said, why don't you try one of each. However, the Baitmonkey has once again kicked my azz this year and I have spent far too much on fishing gear than I should. But, since fishing line is the only thing between you and the fish, just like the tires on your car and the road, I decided to splurge and got some Sufix 832 in Neon Lime in 20lbs. test (all they had otherwise I would have gotten 15lbs.) since it was 15% off from Tackle Warehouse. So, now I will be trying the 20lbs. Sufix 832 Neon Lime on my Stadic Ci4 and 15lbs. original Power Pro Hi-Visibility Yellow on my Stradic FJ. I'll see how the results end up this summer and post my findings.
  10. Did you mean more abrasion resistant, not less in your post?
  11. I'll look into the Suffix. Why do you guys like or so much? What about the Sufix 832 in Hi-Vis Yellow instead of Neon Green, which on is easier to see on sunny days?
  12. I'm looking to get either Hi-Viz Yellow Power Pro Super Slick 8 or Power Pro braid for my two spinning reels. They are for bass fishing and are a new Shimano Stradic Ci4 2500 and Stradic FJ 2500. I've had great success with Power Pro and was wondering if the Super Slick 8 is worth the extra money over Power Pro and if it is, why is it worth the extra cash. I want use Hi-Viz Yellow so I can watch my line when fishing Senkos. This will all be for largemouth bass fishing. I was thinking 15lbs. test because my friend got 20lbs. Fireline for his spinning reel and it felt too thick and not limber. Like throwing a large rope. Perhaps Power Pro's 20lbs. diameter is thinner then Firelines. I don't know. So, is Power Pro Super Slick 8 worth the extra money over regular Power Pro and if so, why is if worth it? What poundage like should I get for my spinning reels?
  13. Is it Power Pro? One of the Cabelas employees was showing me the Cabelas Daiwa reel and said same reel as this but we put the Cabelas name on it and it's $50 cheaper.
  14. I've had very little luck with hollow body frogs, as I recall I might have never caught anything one one except a Spro Popper caught one and my Scum Frog boot foot caught one. I have has a ton of luck with Ragetail Toads topwater and recently KVD Sexy Dawgs also.
  15. Same. Smooth or little ripples. I'd rather catch 1 topwater for 10 regular. I usually start with a KVD Sexy Dawg or Ragetail Toad now.
  16. That's what I was thinking! Crappy frames. Why don't they have anything cool looking like Oakley Flak Jackets? So, if Ray Ban and Costas are owned by the same company is it safe to assume that they have the same lenses?
  17. What do you think are the best out of those and what are the most bang for the buck?
  18. Tag for later.
  19. Don't forget the trailer tires may stick out past the width of the boat. And move somewhere where you can put your boat. lol
  20. Probably the best thing you can do. And then get good line.
  21. I just got my two new reels from Cabelas. A Shimano Stradic Ci4 and a Stradic FJ 2500's. They both say 200 yards of line for 6;bs of test. I want to put Power Pro Super Slick 8 15lbs test on it, which is 4lbs diameter I think. Theoretically I could put 200 yards of line on. This is for bass fishing. Here's the problem, line is sold in 150 yards and 300 yard spools. So, I could put 150 yards on each, or get two 300 yard spools, but then I'd have 200 yards extra. And now that I bought 2 reels I'm attempting to go the most economical route. What would you do? Is 50 less yard really that bad?
  22. +1 for Power Pro. I have the original Power Pro on my first baitcaster, a Plueger Patriach that I bought 6 years ago. It gets heavy, yearly use and I've never had a problem or a line break. I am going to try the Power Pro Super Slick 8 for my two new spinning reels this week.
  23. Why are they so important?
