  1. Thing that gets me is that it is likely other sportsmen stealing the stuff. Probably the same lowlives that litter shore fishing spots and ruin it for the rest of us.
  2. I would take the day off from fishing and drive to the nearest Bass Pro Shops.
  3. That's a nice haul for the fish fry for sure !!
  4. Awesome pics, thanks. I think if I was by myself I would be scared to death of that beast !
  5. They really do go after stuff you wouldn't expect.
  6. Wacky rigged 4" Berkley Gulp! Alive! Nightcrawler, Natural Color
  7. 2011 Jeep Patriot I haven't graduated yet into a full size boat.
  8. Wow, thank you for posting this video. Makes me wonder about all the times I felt something and said "must have bumped a rock or a weed" !!
  9. regarding practicing roll over, practicing in a pool is great. go completely limp making believe you are unconcious, and see how you float etc...
  10. Warmouth and Green Sunfish are kill-on-sight by the NJDEP as an invasive species. They taste pretty good also.
  11. At this one lake I frequent, I often see these 2 guys inflate one and even attach a trolling motor. Seems pretty sturdy.
  12. I fish from a kayak and when I see one of them (as large as a garbage can lid) a mere foot away from me, it kind of scares the heck out of me. I believe their neck can shoot out half the length of their shell ?
  13. Looks like you had a good day. Posts like this make me want to give fly fishing a shot.
  14. The closest one to me (Harrisburg, PA) is a 3 hour drive, so I like to go and make a day of it. Walk around the store, buy what catches my eye, write a list of things to possible purchase online at a future date. I just really like being able to eyeball all the stuff right in front of me instead of scrolling down a page online. Oh yeah, and touch all the boats.
  15. I have been using wacky rigged natural color 4" GULP crawlers at a pond I fish, and have had great luck so far. In fact, caught my personal best last weekend while out on my kayak, fishing around the lily pads.
  16. Not his best moment, but my Dad caught this one. Seemed ok and swam off after we do-hooked it. When he was reeling it in, we both thought it was something huge.
  17. I agree most are nice people, but I have also met my share of litterbugs, purposeful breakers of fishing laws, crooks who will steal gear, pompous boaters who think they own the lake, shore fisherman who will not move from the boat launch, and loud obnoxious drunks.
  18. I have a good one, happened yesterday. I decided to try my luck with a Booyah Pad Crasher (looks like a real frog) over vegetation yesterday. 5th cast I get huge eruption of vegetation, and something on the line. I reel it in and it was the biggest toad I have ever seen.
  19. You can probably built something out of PVC pipe. Something like this with a tarp or some other overhead cover. It's cheap, light, and strong.
  20. Plainsboro checking in. I can be found on Assunpink Lake, Carnegie Lake, and Mercer Lake in my kayak or canoe.
  21. I just bought a 30lb thrust from Bass Pro Shops (SKU # 1969090) for $99.00, and battery (SKU # 1122568) for $214.99
  22. I caught my personal best Largemouth on Monday using a 1/4 ounce Mepps Comet. I cast it and it landed right on top of a lilly pad, as soon as I pulled it off BAM fish was airborne with the spinner in it's mouth. Was real exciting and I have been waiting for that moment since I was a kid. It was even better because I was on my kayak.
