cabelas has these on sale. nice looking rod. saw they had a medium heavy 7ft and got excited. then saw it has a medium fast tip. really hoped or fast or xtra fast. but anyway has anyone tried one of these?

ive been researching rods for mid-deep cranks and alot of guys say a 7'6 rod is the way to go but im considering a 7ft glass rod ive found. should i look at something longer or would a 7' handle them fine?

ive got a max series 683 that im using for open water t-rigs. found a deal on the 714 figured it miggt do a little better in the heavier cover stuff and allow me to throw heavier t-rigs as well

gota start somewher. my first was a basspro reel and rod. used it for a few yrs before upgrading. check the flea market,walmart,fleabay. theres some great deals on quality stuff
