Odd hypothetical question but I'm bored so here goes:
My PB 6.5 lbs was caught on a Zebco 202 because my fancy rig broke. I borrowed it off my buddy, had it in his truck for his kid. I did however use a big juicy Arkie jig and Uncle Josh black widow eel so I had a decent lure. The short answer is YES, if it's all I had, I would fish with it. You are way too bored brother. Ronnie

Well wishes to Triton21 (Kelley)
Hang in there Kelly! You will be up and around in no time. With my first knee replaced 3 weeks ago and the other to be done in January, I will be thinking about you and praying for both of us. Ronnie

Shimano Bantam Chronarch 100
I had two of them. A few years ago, a buddy of mine & I got into a school of hybrid stripers, 8-10 lbs. Caught about a dozen in a 1/2 hour. That reel handled them easily. Destroyed some spinner baits but the reel was flawless. They are great. If the reel is in good shape, you can't go wrong. JMHO. Ronnie

Rod/reel Storage
The greatest enemy of all your gear is moisture. Temperature is not such a big deal unless it is extreme -0. I would do my best to keep stuff dry. JMHO. Ronnie

Favorite 10" worm?
Culprit is the only big worm I use. I love the "black shad" color. It is also available in a 12". Ronnie

favorite shakey head bait??
I don't think you can beat the Zoom finesse, but I have also had good luck with 4" senkos and Strike King floaters. Ronnie

any thoughts on my new gear?
I am a high end gear hound, but a friend gave me a President and it was surprising how it compared to much more expensive reels. You made a good choice, now get out there and whack some fish with this new outfit. Your opinion is the most important one. Enjoy! Ronnie

Crankbait reel.
If you can afford one, the Shimano Calcutta TE 250 DC is the most amazing cranking reel. Digital control casting allows you to throw very light crank-baits into the wind. 5.0: 1 gears and smooth as silk. They are very expensive new, but you can find them used for $200-250 on ebay, craig's list, etc. It's the ultimate, I have one and I love it! Ronnie

Best knot for attaching a leader to braid
I had seen some drawings of nail knots before (using a nail, of course!). They always looked too complicated for me to accomplish. I thank you for the link. This tool definitely will allow me to tie a knot faster than the Alberto. Don't know if it will be as strong, but I will take you at your word. Now I need to locate one of those tools. Located for you.... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Navigation?hvarSearchString=tie+fast&x=0&y=0&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&CMID=TOP_SEARCH_GO Ronnie

Best knot for attaching a leader to braid
The best leader knot tyou can tie is "opposing nail knots" very easy to tie with a knot tying tool. Nearly impossible without the tool. Difference in line diameter does not matter and you cant break the knot. I have broken the line on both sides, but never had a knot failure. Excellent through the guides as well. Try it! Ronnie

One knee down and one to go...
Thanks for all the well wishes! Can't wait to see you guys at KY Lake in April. I will have both knees done by then. I will beat everyone to the boat ramp. Sam, I am not a big fan of any of the above, but I have to tell you, I'm not afraid to do the second one. It is miraculous how well they can control the pain. The whole ordeal wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. I can already walk better than before the surgery only 2 weeks ago. If you are in bad shape, you should go for it. It's really not that hard. One knee down and one to go...
Rheumatoid Arthritis. Had it for 25+ years. Doc wanted to replace the knees three years ago. I put it off as long as I possibly could. Got to where I couldn't walk so here I am. All is good, I will be dancing again in no time. Ronnie

One knee down and one to go...
For those of you who remember me hobbling around Lake Guntersville at the Roadtrip two years ago, Speedbead will remember most, as he carried me and took care of this old man all week long. Well, I finally broke down (literally) and had my left knee replaced on the 10th of this month. I am home from rehab and doing very well. I will get the right one replaced in January and should be good as new in time for the roadtrip. I can already walk better than I could before the surgery. It's a miracle to live in a time when you can get new knees when the old ones wear out. I am very thankful! Ronnie

good rod for flipin
My flippin stick is an older version of this rod (heavy), except mine is spiral wrapped on an IMX blank. If you can afford it, nothing beats it. JMHO http://www.gloomis.com/publish/content/gloomis_2010/us/en/conventional/rods/bass_rods/flipping_stick.html# Ronnie
