  1. Just a reminder that The FEBRUARY 5TH deadline for booking a room has passed. ALL ROOMS THAT WERE BLOCKED OUT FOR US HAVE BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC. You may still find a member with a room to share or another hotel/campground in the area. There may still be rooms available at KenLake Park, they are no longer guaranteed. Please check with Vicky at Ken Lake before you look elsewhere. THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN'T JOIN US!!!! We will accept registrations until March 1. Room reservations are no longer guaranteed by the Park. You may still be able to get a room/campsite by contacting Vickey at KenLake Park. Failing that, send a PM to myself or LongMike and we will try to help you find a member with a room to share. There are also other hotels and campgrounds in the area that may be able to accommodate you. March 1, is a hard deadline for registration as we will need a firm headcount to make arrangements for the members who are signed up. Many thanks to the members who have signed up early and sent your payment! You are making it much easier to plan for this trip. Those who are still on the fence...GET SIGNED UP!!!! Ronnie
  2. Hey Mook! Very proud of you sir!!! Being a role model is a hard job, but you are up to it. All the guys in your program look up to you. You keep on keeping on and never let them down. So I guess yo have to put some letters behind your name now, like MD (Mook Duke). Great job Dominick!!! Ronnie
  3. Hey Matt, Your name is up on the website. You are officially in! Ronnie
  4. Shimano Stella 1000FB w/4lb Trilene XL Custom wrapped Lamiglas 3wt flyrod blank Ronnie
  5. Wayne, I have a Nikon D60and several lenses. Don't let the megapixal thing bother you. It's all about lenses, the D40 Nikon can be bought with a lens kit for less than $500 from WalMart and you will love it. Check out this guy's site. He is pretty sharp on all kinds of photography. http://www.kenrockwell.com/ Ronnie
  6. Matt, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I don't know what you are smelling?? Yesterday, it was 8 degrees with snow on the ground and I only live a few miles from you. It is 10 degrees this morning and the snow is still there. Optimism is great, but I am not taking the cover off my boat just yet. LOL Ronnie
  7. Sam, I have the DSR820S GLX. If you can afford this rod, just get it. You will not be disappointed. As a rod builder I was a little skeptical of the recoil guides, but after about 2 years, they have performed well. JMHO Ronnie
  8. I use mine for all 'finesse' type fishing. Never for T-rigs or jigs. When you ask about "weightless" plastics, if you mean 3" or 4" grubs with no extra weights attached you are fine, but if you mean "senko" type salted worms they are not weightless. A 5" Senko, Trick stick, etc. can weigh almost 1/2 oz, which exceeds the rating of the rod. Stick to dropshotting and light shakeyhead presentations, Zoom Finesse worms, etc.. I use mine for UL floating Rapalas and the like. It works great. I hope this helps. Ronnie
  9. Just a 'heads up' to all who are going on the "RoadTrip". LONG MIKE has graciously offered to help me out by keeping track of and helping organize roommates and boat seats. If you have a question about these accommodations, don't be surprised if you hear from Long Mike instead of me. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused. I appreciate Mike's help as I have a lot on my plate trying to move my house, etc. Also I have updated the website with the latest attendees and it's shaping up to be an amazing trip!!! GET SIGNED UP!!!!! Ronnie
  10. I am guessing your new "Romance Novel" won't be coming out this year. Ronnie
  11. ROAD TRIP UPDATE..... I have 26 paid sign-ups for the trip now and several "check is in the mail" promises. The deadline for reserving blocked out rooms at KenLake is only 5 days away!! I am trying to get the deadline extended, but I can't promise anyone a room after next week. SO GET SIGNED UP! Check out the "Who's Coming" list on the website. This is turning into a real "Bassapalooza". Better get signed up soon or you may miss out. Regardless of room availability, we will stop accepting registrations at the end of February so we can make all the arrangements for the festivities. I am not trying to be a butthead here. Last year we had almost 2 dozen members either back out at the last minute or just not show up. This is why we instituted the "registration process". You must be registered (which means paid up) by February 28 or you will not be included in the plans we have for the registered members (catered dinner, special speaker, tee shirt, free dinner meals during the week, etc.). You can still come to fish the lake and we will try to help you, that's just how we roll, but you will be on your own for rooms/roommates, meals, boat to fish in, etc. Please don't count on showing up at the last minute and being able to participate in all the activities we have planned as you will likely be disappointed. The easiest thing to do is fill out a sign up form at the website and send it with a check to Alpster and get yourself a room, roommate or a camping spot and join us for a trip to remember! http://kentuckylake.bassresource.com/ -- GET SIGNED UP!!! 19. If you like G. Loomis, DSR820S is the only dropshot rod out there, IMHO. I have the GLX version and it's my favorite spinning rod period. Ronnie
  20. I sent you a PM and your name is now on the website. You can't be anymore "IN" than you are now. Thanks for signing up! I can't wait to meet you. Ronnie
  21. There is now a countdown clock on the website. Check it out..... http://kentuckylake.bassresource.com/overview.html Ronnie
  22. Those of you who are flying into Nashville should send me your flight information (flight #, arrival time, etc.) I will try to arrange a ride from the airport for you. It's a 100 mile trip and could save you a car rental. 71 DAYS!!! Ronnie
  23. I thought everyone did. Ronnie
  24. Looking good boys, this is where I fish most of the time..... Ronnie
  25. Wayne, I am looking at the signup list. We can add 10% for maybe a few stragglers or those who can't stay the whole week. Somehow we have to be able to plan, so I am trying to stick with the signup list as much as possible. Ronnie
