  1. I don't want to argue the point, but over the road diesel tractor engines are routinely re-sleeved and re-built at a million plus miles and it is illegal to reset odometers on these rigs. Ronnie
  2. Wayne, We are still more than 8 months out and I don't want to jump the gun on info. that's yet undecided. I am planning to go to KY Lake in September and check out the venue that CJ has suggested and meet with him and do a little exploring. If you can get the Harley started, you can ride down with me, I will ride slow so you can keep up. I will make my suggestions to the mods when I have some useful information to go on. I know you want to get pumped up about the trip and so do I. I am planning to work extra hard this year to help members participate with as little confusion as possible. We learned a lot about what works and what doesn't last year and will make some adjustments that will be helpful for everyone. In the mean time, be patient and expect that I will put you to work when the time comes. LOL 2009 Kentucky Lake! No Excuses! Ronnie
  3. Nice work! I have an IMX MB844 blank with an almost identical grip setup I built a few years ago. I also like the tapered grip. Keith you may remember giving me a new tip top at Lake Fork for that one with wooden reel seat. LOL Ronnie
  4. Nice work Eddie! I love a rod that doesn't look like every other one on the rack. The tiger stripes are awesome. Keep on keeping on! Ronnie
  5. Dump a couple of drops of JJ's on the carpet. It won't matter what else stinks in the truck. Washing your hands every other Saturday or so could help also. Ronnie
  6. My dock skipper is a G. Loomis SJR 722 IMX. It's a little lighter power than the rods already suggested, but I like a little whip in the rod for skipping. You can't beat it. IMHO Ronnie
  7. I like the light cork also. Here is the one in my lathe right now. Light Jig rod on a Shikari MB863 blank. Go with the light cork. JMHO Ronnie
  8. If today is your B-day, it's the same as my oldest daughter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Ronnie

Nice Keith, Those beefy 8 footers are whole new experience when throwing 5 oz Huds. Looks like your usual classy workmanship. Keep on keeping on. I built myself an 8' swimbait rod on a Loomis GL2 Back Bounce blank. GL2 is the only choice in the backbounce. I used a premade 15" grip with a Fuji "soft touch" seat. That grip has enough cork in it to float a Shimano Calcutta 400B reel. I threw it in the water at Guntersville. It floated for 20 or 30 seconds until I got on my arthritic knees and reached down and picked it up. Great rod and combo for heavy baits though, spiral wrapped of course. Ronnie
  10. Whoa! Nice rig there bud. Where's the rod rack? 8-) Ronnie

Absolutely AWESOME Cliff, Phillipians 2:3-4 says " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Not many people have the courage or compassion to do that. God bless you & your wife for your sacrifice for these boys. KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!! Ronnie
  12. I must tell you, when I was struggling to catch a bass, any bass at all, for the "MOJO" thread. It was the first time in my life I have caught a bass in over 30' of water. When the temps get up in the 90s & 100s the fish go deep. A jig or in my case T-rigged "Culprit" worm slowly on the bottom in the deepest part of the lake. Lesson learned. Ronnie
  13. I used to have a 1/2 dozen GLX rods and am now down to only two. The IMX rods are the fishing machines of the loomis line, IMHO. Mine are all built on custom blanks, and maybe that's the magic, but I don't miss the fragile (however light) GLX rods. I had four GLX rods replaced by the expiditor warranty and sold them as new to replace them with IMX blanks that would be my rod of choice. No regrets. Ronnie
  14. With a moron for game warden on the lake I am surprised you two didn't wind up in jail! Glad you got to make it out together and catch a few. Keep on keeping on! Ronnie
  15. Well, there's no mistaking the photography. What kind of fish is that by the way?? I still say you look more like an old Elton John with them sunglasses. So there, that should be insulting enough. Good to have you back. Ronnie
  16. Awesome George, Thanks for taking time with the kids. They will never forget it! You are the MAN! Ronnie
  17. Happy B-day Gidget! May you have a 100 more. Ronnie
  18. I am a big fan of the round reels, I currently have a 6600DS, 5700WS and a good old red 6000. I don't think it will cost me my Shimano Posse membership. Heck, I have even been fishing with a couple of "Floogers" lately, but don't tell anybody. Ronnie
  19. I must say, that as a member of the 'Shimano Posse' I have fished for a while now with a Flooger president that was given to me by Muddyman. The reel has performed beyond my expectations and I am impressed by the Flooger quality! I still have an affection for 'Shimano' reels because they have performed so well for me over decades of fishing, but I will give credit where it is due. If you can't afford a "Stradic", "Sustain" or "Stella", give the Flooger president a try. It will likely not disappoint you! I can't believe I am propping a "Flooger" LOL Keep on keeping on! Ronnie
  20. He's a mook who plays the drums........ Ronnie
  21. Well, I think Bizz is 6'7" and when you combine that with a rod that is around 8', you get the picture.... After I cut 3 inches off Jays rod, it was still 8'4" long. You remember the 8' backbounce rod I was throwing the Hud with at Guntersville? Fourbiz's rod makes it look like a lightweight. It is far and away the heaviest freshwater rod I have built. That rod is a beast. Ronnie
  22. Mine is kind of famous, LOL............ The Bassbus.......... Ronnie
  23. Great write up JT! I can say I knew Kent when he was just a regular guy. Ronnie
  24. Grills the best steak in TN!! Ronnie
  25. 7-1/2" Culprit worm (color= black shad) hands down for me! Ronnie
