  1. What a gift! Unbelievable! Thanks for posting this. Ronnie
  2. The 50Mg (51 is a left handed reel) is a superior reel in all respects except line capacity. I have 4 50Mgs and have never run out of line. LOL Ronnie
  3. If you have venison that is tough, try marinating overnight in whole milk. The enzymes in milk will make tough deer meat very tender. Ronnie
  4. I'm sure you are right about that! I will sure be listening. Ronnie
  5. Thanksgiving is my family's favorite holiday of the year. It's about being together and being thankful to God for who we are, what we have and where we live. I am blessed beyond measure, pressed down, shaken and overflowing. Ronnie
  6. Hey Mike, Funny you should post this. I have a small group of older teens/early 20s from my church that meet at my place each Friday night. They just left about an hour ago. We have a short bible study and then it's out to the garage to build something. We recently finished an adjustable sliding mount for the church's video projector that mounts on the ceiling. We are currently working on a two tier rack for storing dumbells (excersize, not mooks). LOL. The tall skinny kid in the pics works for me 3 days a week and he spent almost 10 hours surveying in a mud hole in Newark, NJ and still showed up tonight to work on our project. My youngest daughter got me fired up to do this, she said "dad, you can fix anything and we can't fix nothing". It's a lot of fun and the kids are having a ball designing, cutting, grinding, welding and fabricating. We have several projects planned and I have a lot of fun with them. I am very proud of them. A few pics of the current project. And yes, we have a couple of young ladies who will grab a tool and jump in with both feet. Don't give up hope Mike, these youngsters are learning how to GIT ER DUN! Ronnie
  7. Follow the baitfish and use clams in the surf. Where in NJ are you? There are lots of good places to fish, just no where to PARK! LOL Ronnie
  8. It would be hard to stand on that deck for very long with a bow & a broadhead without puttin one of them in the freezer. Amazing picture! Ronnie

  10. For most bass fishing, most of the differences are pure personal preference. My experience is with 5 round reels and 4 LP reels is....they pretty much do the same thing. The differences that I note in my reels are.... My round reels generally hold more line, have a heavier drag and are less delicate. My LP reels are more comfortable to hold/cast and will cast and retrieve a little more smoothly. The fish do not know the difference. Ronnie
  11. When you look at your body parts and decide, if it don't hurt, it don't work. You can live without sex, but not without glasses. When you talk about "good grass" you are referring to your neighbor's lawn. Just a few......... Ronnie
  12. OK, Your mission Wayne, should you decide to accept it........ TOP SECRET! 8-) Send me a PM with the best time to call you. I gotta big job for you! Ronnie
  13. Shimano Stradic 1000, BPS just dropped the price to $99. Try 30lb power pro with Vanish 6lb floro leader. Ronnie
  14. The wt of your fly line and rod has less to do with the size fish you may hook than it does with the size and type flys/baits you want to cast and where you will fish. A 5 or 6wt fly rod will handle LM bass in most parts of the country. 7 or 8 wt rods/lines will cast larger flies better. Leaders and tippits for either are a bigger concern as they will range in the 2lb - 8lb class. You have to get your mind around how much of a shock absorber an 8 or 9 ' long fly rod is. I have caught 3+lb bass on a 3wt fly rod with a 1.5lb tapered leader. If you aren't planning to make long casts into the wind with big flys, I would go with the 5/6 wt. You can always buy a heavier setup after you have more experience. You can always use the smaller rig for panfish/trout etc. JMHO Ronnie
  15. 6' 10" medium light, 4-8lb line extra fast. JMHO Ronnie
  16. Avid, All of my BC rods are spiral wrapped and don't see where it makes a difference where a particular line is concerned. I think they perform better with all line types because they eliminate torque under a load and the line can't touch the rod. JMHE Ronnie

  18. If you can't afford a Loomis Flippin Stick and a Shimano Calais reel, I will suggest a ABU 6000 (bought mine for $40 on sale) and a 7' Quantum Tournament Grade IM8 rod ($35 @ Wally World) for flippin and pitching in heavy cover. You have to spend a lot of $ to beat this rig for practical purposes. JMHO Ronnie

  20. Hey Russ, This is coming from a huge CCR fan. "Fortunate Son" is a 60s protest song, but it's more about protesting the government and politics than the war. John Fogarty (CCR's front man) did a tribute concert (with others) on TV to Vietnam Veterans back on July 4, 1987. The sound was simulcast on local FM radio stations so you could crank up the stereo and here the music the way it was meant to be. Which I did! he-he. It was amazing! Let me tell you there were lots of disabled Vietnam vets jumping out of their wheel chairs when he sang that song. I think you are on pretty stable ground. JMHO Ronnie
  21. Jimzee, You have a PM. That will teach you to volunteer. Thanks! Ronnie
  22. Yep, I'm betting it's Roger. Ronnie
  23. Hey Russ, Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. Hang in there. The bible says -"we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope." Rom. 5:3 Praying for your headaches to subside. Ronnie
  24. MBR844C IMX is what I use most of the time . For flipping/pitching it's my Loomis FS905 IMX 'Flippin Stik'. You can pull the bass and the stump she's wrapped around out with this baby! 8-) Ronnie
