lol i just believe that stradic FJ is the best spinning reel shimano makes. (In that price range) but the verano reel is a Daiwa reel. but to be honest, I am a Quantum/penn freak. i only use reels that never let me down. so those are the only brands i use

I never had that problem so it has to be a bad batch, I have Daiwa's that outlasted stradic's. I use them on saltwater and freshwater, but some people have their preference.

Nice fish. I'v been bass fishing and peacock bass fishing in pembroke pines and C-14 canals. The large mouth bass are very big in those canals, i got a 7 pounder first cast. I took pictures

Diawa Tatula Vs Lews
if theirs any reel that can cast 40 yards between the two, i would have to say the tatula because it was made for casting far with the (T-WING) system.

Orvis
This is my fly rod and reel
-
Orvis
I never tried orvis, i hear very good things about it, my brand is Tibor. But here in Florida it seem like the most popular fly reels are called Nautilus, and i dont know why, people swear by that brand and they will never change no matter what you tell them. I have a tibor and love it.

Orvis
The reel that i am getting is a 7-8 weight, but loading it with 8wt line and put it with a 8wt rod. I actually want one rod for everything. I will be using it for bass, snook, tarpon, peacock bass, redfish and seatrout. I am a guy that dont like to have 10 rods for specific Technics. I will be doing more fly fishing from now on.

Swimbait Advice?
I like soft body swimbaits, I also like them weedless but some swimbaits are not weedless so you have to modify it yourself. I fish my swimbaits (VERY SLOW) because I am fishing 8+ inch swimbaits. And you need a strong rod with alot of backbone. I use my flippin and punching rod for swimbaits

Orvis
yea man. I want to buy an 8wt, its versatile. If you ever go saltwater fishing, try it. you can get some stripers, bluefish and other fish, and even snook, reds and tarpon. I got a 10wt because i just got into fly fishing and i love it
-
Orvis
It all depends where you live....A snook or a bull redfish will spool that line off your reel. A 5wt here is extremely light. We have fish that are 100 pounds next to fish that are 40 pounds and that's a dangerous move to make.... Like i said its all depends where you live.

Orvis
I see people all the time catching 50 pound black drums and 150 pound tarpon all the time here in the treasure coast and the Indian river lagoon.

Seaguar Red Label
I use it exclusively for leader only.

First Baticaster Setup
You'll be fine with a spinning combo and I believe its way more versatile with spinning, but if you want to buy a BC, then for starters ill get a 6 gear ratio reel and a 7' foot rod medium-heavy. I would not advise you to buy a top of the line combo because you're just starting and need to get used to it, just like everyone starts low and then move up in quality but the basspro shops pro qualifier reel is a extremely good start and its better than some 200 dollar reels and i will also use a XPS extreme rod, they are both on sale right now.
-
Which Rod/reel?
Ok, In that case, a 6 gear ratio reel with a 7' rod. but you can get The bass pro Qualifier reel and the XPS Extreme rods - they are both on sale at basspro shops right now. you will actually spent less then 200 bucks on that combo saves you money for line.
