  1. do you live in Virginia beach?
  2. you fish with duckett rods and your laughing at me? dude that's the most garbage rod company ever existed, no wonder why you use a 7'8 for punching. that explains your ignorance. I'm done here.
  3. I have it with a Quantum Centex and its pretty balance. I am a quantum freak so thats all i buy now
  4. We have a section on local fishing forums and all us Floridians will help you with your questions. that being said, Lake Kissimmee is known for its flippin, pitching and punching. it has heavy cover and i like to use big baits such as big worms and punch 2oz craw in the junk.
  5. I've said this before. Costa del mar makes the best sunglasses in the world. The G series are made of glass not plastic, but they offer plastic as well. What makes them superior than any company is the patents that they have. They have a patent that blocks the yellow light so that makes you see better and have less fatigue on you eyes. So that makes other companies automatic prone to quality to costa's. I had jims, oakleys, and wiley x. their no where near to the quality of costa's
  6. worms and frogs - It doesn't get any easier then that.
  7. Get it. Its a very good rod that (in my opinion) beats other 200 dollars rod. Its well made and very sensitive. For $99 you cant beat it. The Fenwick HMG is the first fishing rod that made the first graphite rod ever, then other companies followed. Just to give you a little history background of this great rod.
  8. nice. where do you fish at?
  9. That reel is perfect for punching. It will go perfectly with the w & m Skeet Reese 7'11punching rod. Also remember to use a long rod, less then 7'10 will not be a good idea for punching even though some companies make shorter rods, those companies don't know how to make punching rods.
  10. Texas and Florida rigs, if it gets snagged that means its not set-up properly and the bait has some sharp edges that's catching on the weeds. Also, modify the weed guard on jigs to make it smoother for you. Sometimes it does not come right, out of the box.
  11. Wow i never knew that lmb get that big up-north. Great catch. My addition of bass will never go away. You were close to the New York Record, the current record is 11.4. That bass you are holding there, come back 2 years later and that fish might be pushing the record weight. Do tell no one about that spot.
  12. This rod for a good price, I wouldn't even think about it. Probably one of the best rods on the market right now without a doubt. Plus it has lifetime warranty.
  13. Interesting.. A pike never broke me off with braid. I would use a small leader, like the size of your finger. They sell it at Walmart.
  14. Yes, stay with the curado reel if its a 7.1 gear ratio. A 6.1 might work, but it will slow you down a little, so you need to be fast with your hands. I recommend a fast gear ratio like 7.1 and higher. Curado's are work horse reels. 50 pound braid is the minimum i would use. Myself, I use 65 to 80 pound braid, but 50 would get the job done.
  15. curado is perfect reel, but for punching, you basically need a broomstik. A medium- heavy wont cut it. You need at least heavy. I have a extra heavy, extra fast 7'11 punching rod. you can also use a swimbait rod but it has to load up fast like a extra fast action.
  16. For the money is wright and mcgill Skeet Reese 7'11 punch rod for $89 lifetime warranty.
  17. I fish both, prefer sun-up, to me its like the morning breakfast bell, The big girls wake up to eat first and then the kids wake up for school, thats the way i see things. I see fishing just like anything else, everything has a routine including fish. I would also like to add that i also believe that people have a better chance of catching a big one on the morning then afternoon, because everybody ate through out he day.
  18. Iv use uni knot and it never failed me ever in my life of using it. That test might be accurate, but if you use the right line with properly tied, It will never fail you. I use these knots in saltwater for 30 snook and 100+ pound tarpon. Any knot will work if tied properly. So everything else its just preference to me.
  19. GLX compares to Avid???? I highly doubt that. I have the GLX rod and it outperforms the avid by a mile. A GLX vs St. Croix Legend Elite is a fair comparison. I still wont buy both because both are rising the prices higher and higher and buy the year 2018 their rods will cost 700 dollars as the new norm. I prefer good quality cheap rod or in other words best bang for you buck type of guy. Their still extremely good rods out there without slaving your wallet.
  20. x4 on BPS Carbonlite with PQ reel. Its on sale right now go buy it
  21. pitching and punching are the key Technics. Use dark colors as well as natural colors like your black and blues and your green pumpkins. 1/2 to 2oz depending on the cover. 65 pound braid. jigs and craw baits texas rigged. also use big baits only slow and steady retrieve. buy yourself a broomstick punching rod if you dont have one good luck
  22. The legend extreme rods are $400+. For some of you guys that a good price, but for me, that's very expensive for only one rod. The good thing about that price point is lifetime warranty witch i would imagine for a 400 dollar rod. TFO makes one of the best rods for the money and gary loomis is involved
  23. Very good rod, probably the best rods on the market next to G.Loomis and Fitzgerald.
  24. I prefer uni-knot. Its easier and simple. Most people here use it so i learned it.
