  1. You have to remember that the bigger the size on spinning reel, the stronger the drag, and we have some 10+ pound bass down here with extensive cover. We also use, like my self, the same gear for peacock bass and big snook. That picture on my profile. that snook was caught with my bass gear. if i were to use a 2500, the snook will easily break that reel or spooled it. so 4000 is very versatile if you're going to use it on multiple fish. I also use spinning gear for jigs, worms, swim baits and frogs. A person upnorth can use a 4000 for bass, salmon and muskie. Also you can tell by his profile picture that he don't only fish for bass. (common sense)
  2. I like to help people but some people don't like to take advise, but that's life. I totally love taking advise from older crowd. The older people have the best advise and they have been fishing for years so the experience is there. I don't like to take advise from younger crowd. They usually don't know what their taking about and they think they know more than everybody. I blame myself as well but my hardhead will accept it one day. ill take advise from older person because they have the experience to back it up. They also fished in what i called the fishing golden era, the 60s,70s and 80s
  3. you can find berkley rods at Walmart. their all good rods. My friend catch big 30 pound snook and 5+ pound peacock bass on them all the time. Never failed him.
  4. That's very good your doing that. If i have a rod that is broken, I will save it for future projects, or you can buy old cheap rods and reels that you can fix up or use for accessories. That's smart and wallet friendly. Keep it up and continue to fix up your own reels and rods. I'm doing this as well.
  5. Just like everything else, the older they are, the better they are. some people might argue that, but if you have a 20+ year old reel, you know what i'm talking about. I have old shimano stradic that never let me down. I bought a new stradic, and it broke on me. These days companies are using more plastic in their reels and they talked about how stronger they are. Any body that has common sense knows that plastic will never be stronger than metal. I don't let the advertisement get me, some things are common sense, but a lot of people lack it
  6. St.croix 7'9 foot mojo rods
  7. We have a lot of sources on land that some people don't take advantage on, like the picture i just posted with the snook. I was wading that day and thats all i can do because i don't have a boat so i'm very limited, but not so bad, because over here we have one of the best jetty's in Florida (fort pierce) inlet. we also have A1A on Hutchinson island and we have some nice beaches that are loaded with snooks in the summer time. I want a boat for sure but i dont really need one to catch fish.
  8. Costa del mar. Their the best. Try them on store before buying, to get the right size and frame.
  9. I like that beer
  10. I have the Baby shad 2.5", 4" shad and the 6". the most versatile one is the 4" shad. I have the slow sinking ones but the fast sinking ones are better IMO
  11. Regular PowerPro is cheap and they're very good, i had mine for 2 years now and not a single problem. You can find em at your local walmart for less than $15
  12. I live in Psl too. For freshwater you can fish the lake on prima vista behind the walwart close to i95. or the lake by green river drive in berkshire
  13. your ignorance has overcome you. when i say the lightest reel on the market, i meant that no other reel is lighter on the market meaning its there along with steez, MGX and tour MG which all are 5.4oz. and about the bad resale part, I dont know where you live, but here where i'm from, these reels have one of the best resale value among any other reels next to penn and fin-nor. you opinion is your opinion, ill stick with the facts over here. i didn't came here to argue, i'm just stating my facts. i'm done here
  14. that's your opinion. and by the way, hes not talking about the overpriced MGX, hes talking about the premier. i had abus and they all fail me. quantum is a better made reel imo
  15. there is no competition. the quantum tour mg is the lightest reel on the market it weights 5.4oz and its the only baitcast reel made out of magnesium that's in that price range. the quantum tour mg is top of the line reel . you are compering a honda with a ferrari on this one.
  16. you're right the current world record redfish is in north Carolina, but before that one, it was in Indian river lagoon and the state record also came from there as well around there somewhere.
  17. Sebastian has 50 and 60 pound redfish. the majority of world record redfish had been caught in Sebastian in the Indian river lagoon. Sebastian is a good place to catch big fish.
