A Week of Bluegrass and Fishing - Pics
Hey guys, You've probably noticed I've been gone for the past 7 days. I was away at the Allegheny Echoes Music Camp (http://www.alleghenyechoes.com) held yearly in Pocahontas County, West Virginia at the Marlinton Moter Inn. It was quite a trip, both in good ways and bad. We originally were going to stay at a cottage owned by the River Place Restaurant in downtown Marlinton, but after the first 3 days, we left and stayed the remaining nights at the Jerico Bed and Breakfast. The reasons? The cottage was a mess, due in part to bare walls, finding mold in the coffee maker, and finding dog hair on our beds. We were also promised TVs in every room, while there wasn't, and there was no silverware at all. I will recommend the Jerico Bed and Breakfast to anyone staying in Marlinton. It is a great family atmosphere, and a great place to stay with great food. Aside from lodging, I will compliment on the great fishing on the Greenbrier River. I slayed the smallmouth and trout all week long. I caught over 12 smallmouth, of which several were good sized ones, and I caught 5 trout as well. I released the smallmouth, but kept the trout. Here's one of the areas where we caught several smallies. Folks who have been to Marlinton know that this is in front of the River Place Restaurant, home of great food, but VERY slow service. Here's some of the trout I caught out behind the park at Marlinton. When I wasn't fishing, I was attending workshops and classes at the music camp. We didn't stay at the Marlinton Motor Inn because there was a lot of drinking going on after dark, and it would be quite impossible to sleep while many musicians pick after 1 or 2 in the morning. Here are some pictures from the camp. For those who do not know, I pick the guitar and sing, while my brother plays the banjo. Information on our group can be found at http://kiddbrothers.tripod.com Now for the pics! Thanks for looking guys, and see ya around! -Aaron "Troutfisher"

Heading Out for Music Camp - See You in a Week!
Thanks Muddy Man. Thanks, File Mob. Yep, I play the guitar and sing. I actually have an amatuer bluegrass band entitled "The Kidd Brothers," which is me, my brother on banjo, a man named Willard Reynolds on mandolin & vocals, and a bass player named Markel Fertig on the bass and vocals. Our website at http://kiddbrothers.tripod.com if you wanna hear a few song samples. They're a little older (last August) but they give you a sampling of what we play. Here's a few pictures from camp last year if you are interested. Can't forget the fine fishing!

Good luck to you guys, hold the fort down, and Muddy Man, stay out of trouble. Wait, what am I saying? ;D

Yahoo! Photos Is Shutting Down
I use Photobucket, I'm considering moving all my photos there if Flickr doesn't work.

Yahoo! Photos Is Shutting Down
Not sure why they are shutting down, but they are. All of my fishing and family photos are in Yahoo! Photo albums, and the site has options of places to move your photos. I chose Flickr, but so far, only 4 pictures have been moved, and it doesn't look like they are moving any more for me. I may have to contact Yahoo! Customer Service and tell them.

show/tell us about your pets!
The dog on the left, the brown one, is Daisy, and the black one on the right is Lilly. Personally, I would have named them Brownie and Blacky, but my mom wanted a feminine touch... :

What's your day job?
High school student with no actual day job, but I enjoy picking up items at yard sales and flea markets and selling them for big $$ on Ebay.

So it clears at 10,000? Interesting feature. Well, once you've hit 100,000, like me... ;D

Fathers Day
Sounds like a good testing area. I usually will use those water shoes, but crocs look more comfortable to walk around it.
-
Fathers Day
I've always looked at those crocs like they might be good for wading in a river fishing for smallmouth. They are made of that durable, comfortable plastic, and the water can flow through the holes in the shoe, while you have the bottom to avoid stepping on glass.

Fathers Day
That sounds like a great Father's Day gift, not so much from the material aspect, but for the caring aspect.

I'm heading up to the Greenbrier River two weeks from now, and I can't wait. Nothing beats the Greenbrier in summertime for some fine smallmouth fishing.
