Boyd Duckett Wins The Classic
Congratulations to Mr. Duckett on his first Classic win. I was hoping that KVD would secure a 3rd Classic, but, if Boyd Duckett fished harder and came up with more results, he won it fair and square. To Mr. Duckett!

I am glad some rules are up, yet isn't that what Paparock wanted in the first place? A set of rules? He seemed pretty upset when he left.

What happened to PAPAROCK
I spoke with Paparock via e-mail. He had sent several PM's to Glenn and moderators about some private issues that were apparently never answered.

Kissing your fish
Wow, you guys need to go fish or something. You should do like me, when I went fishing yesterday, wind pounding against my face, half the lake iced over, freezing cold, that's the best kind of fishing. ;D

The World Record Story, Facts and Pictures
I was just reading some of my Bassmaster magazines where they discuss the case of Mr. Hayes bass. First off, that fish is a WHOPPER smallie! I was reading the investigation that they did, and some of the fan mail sent, and out of all of the readers who responded in the next issue after the investigation story was published, every one of them said that the smallmouth should be reinstated. Fortunately for Mr. Hayes and the smallmouth community, it was reinstated, and rightfully so, I believe. Anytime there is a world record bass, or anything close to it, there is going to be controversy. Bassmaster magazine did one great job documenting the case and laying out the facts and evidence for all to see. As far as other records, I'll bet they are out there, it's just a matter of when or where. I believe the new smallie record will come from a lake like Dale Hollow, and in my opinion, it will probably be caught at night.

What do you guys think about a half-frozen lake, surface area approximately 5 acres with water temp around 30-35 degrees and air temperature around 50 degrees? That's the scenario I'm dealing with.

Fishing in Wind?
Thanks for the help, guys. Unfortunately, most of the lake is still frozen, except for a good sized area in the creek arm I was bank fishing yesterday. I doubt I'll catch much of anything because of the cold water, however, I'm going out tomorrow and I am going to try some live nightcrawlers and see what happens.

Fishing in Wind?
I went out this afternoon, and after I unthaw, let me tell you that weather can be very deceiving. They called for 50 degrees and windy, and while the wind wasn't very strong, the air temperature dropped from 50 to 35 in a matter of an hour or two. Top that with the cold wind at times, and the fact that most of the lake was frozen, and I didn't have the best of times. Now to get that weatherman...

Fishing in Wind?
Thanks for the input, guys. The lake/backwater area I fish does have a feeder creek and cove area that I believe is probably thawed by now. If the wind isn't too bad, I intend on fishing there.

Fishing in Wind?
I was going to ask your opinion on fishing in windy conditions. I plan on heading out this afternoon, and although they are calling for mild conditions, the wind is supposed to be a factor. How do you guys deal with windy conditions? I've heard the old saying that wind from the east means fish bite the least, however, I read some information in Bassmaster this month discrediting that theory. Thanks for your input! -TF
