  1. Probably anyone here but with permission it would probably be, not in order, LBH, Muddy_Man, KU_Bassmaster, Ikebass, Abelfisher, and BassPro48(The avatar got me... ;D). Those are the ones who usually acknowledge my opinions and/or listen to my posts the most. Plus, they all boast good fish records.
  2. Agreed, this is a more interesting thread! As far as the pic, that's ok!
  3. Wow! Got any pics of this bass? It sounds like a monster. I've heard of people catching them off smaller fish but usually they get off. The other day I was trout fishing when a guy said he was reeling in a small trout and a monster bass swallowed it and popped the line.
  4. Well, in my case, it was someone else doing the rowing, whilst I did the fishing.... ;D
  5. I'd say out of all the ways 80% would be bank fishing (Don't have a boat), 15% wading (usually in streams for smallmouth and bass, and usually without waders, with swimming trunks in the summer), and 5% canoeing (I've only done this once or twice.) Out of all of these, I think that the most fun is wading in the summer when it's hot; you get to fish and cool off.
  6. I went down to a usual spot of mine and threw a senko-imitation into water I know was 6 inches deep or less, and a nice 2 and 1/2 lber nailed it as soon as it hit the water. My parents told me that my first fish was a brook trout caught in a small creek near my grandparents home, and I had a bobber and worm on, and literally as soon as the bait hit the water a fish nailed it and pulled the bobber under.
  7. My dad's friend's daughter who I was fishing with caught a dandy little 3lb channel cat on a beetle spin while fishing for bluegill.....
  8. What about the 50 lb plus largemouth that I always catch? ;D Average 2-4 lbs.
  9. Agreed, that's usually what I do.
  10. I too dislike paying that much. Try buying Kinami, a Yamamoto Enterprises lure that works just as well. Also, the Tiki Stick works pretty well. Just make sure the lures are salt-impregnated.
  11. I am staying on the senko for a while. If it works, fish it!
  12. Awww, it's ok, you can put it back. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  13. Here, a biggie is 5lbs or more. The state record is 12 lbs and something, so you can see how a 5lber would be big. Usually, a bass 10lbs or more makes the local papers.
  14. From what I've heard when fishing, the best time to go is in late evening, and early morning. However, after trying both, I've found that evenings in general are usually pretty good, not right before dark, and I've also found that during the lunch-time hours are usually pretty good. This has worked on most fish, however, bluegill, at least in my case, usually stop biting after dark.
  15. Agreed. It's a sad world we live in now.
  16. If you do something a lot, a lot, a lot, and even more a lot, you will tire of it, usually on about anything, be it golf, hunting, or God forbid, fishing. It's good to get a break from something once in a while. Wait, what am I saying?
  17. Some of my favorite fishing spots are littered with the garbage left by other fisherman, including beer cans, boxes of empy nightcrawler containers, and my least favorite, tangled fishing line. I mean, is it that hard for you to pick up your trash when you leave? I'm no environmentalist, but I hate to see trash laying around to ruin the otherwise great fishing area. I think you deserve to be called a fisherman(or woman) if you pick up any trash in an area. Not only do you help to make things look nice, you also make it good for the next person who comes to fish your area.
  18. You spelled some stuff wrong there, Larryrr.
  19. Thank you. And you're right. If it means that kids stay inside and play video games all day or see something on TV to grab their attention, by all means take the commercial.
  20. You're exactly right.
  21. Amen to that, brother. ;D
  22. Ok, I personally would start off with some live bait, nightcrawlers perhaps, and fish a whole one off the bank for a while. Once you have perfected that, move on to senkoes, or a senko like lure. Basically, a senko is a cigar shaped lure thats main purpose is to sink, and catch fish, thus, sink=senko. This is a relatively easy lure to fish, therefore, I would recommend it. After you've done this for a while, start trying other lures, like poppers, crankbaits, and more. Once you've done this, you'll rarely get skunked. I too am a bank fisherman, and I still buy nightcrawlers when I get the chance, and I still use senkoes. I am a younger fisherman, so usually I like to move around when I fish, therefore, I use the senko and cast around different places, around cover (ex. fallen trees, weeds, etc.) Hope you enjoy fishing, and hope you enjoy the forum! -Troutfisher91
