  1. I have several St Croix rods that have cork handles. They are getting very pitted and rough in some spots from use. Is there a good way to refurbish them without having to buy whole new handles? What do all you guys and gals do to keep your rods in good shape?
  2. The best way to learn how to fish spinnerbaits (or any other style of bait) is to go fishing and take only spinnerbaits with you. Trust me. It works
  3. Just under 8 lbs?!?! Thats a HAWG! Sounds like you guys had a good day on the water. You said the water was high. Was it very muddy?
  4. Lucky craft Pointer 78 in Chart/pearl.
  5. Sunrise to Sunset. That is when I CAN get away from all the holiday events my family drags me to. ;D
  6. COME ON GUYS "CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?" Lets all agree to disagree and let the Chapman issue go.
  7. Thanks for the info Lane. I am well aware of Paul Jollys HOTS tournaments and have fished a few. The nbaa is new to me though and I will certainly check that out.
  8. One thing I didn't care for when I heard about the merge was that you had to be a member of both ABA and BASS. More membership fees out of my pocket. Perhaps I am not very computer savy but when I went to the ABAs website I had a very hard time finding the things I was looking for. I will go back and look again but I wanted the Indiana central tournament results and all I could find was the name and phone number of the director. There will always be change and this one looks like a pretty sizable one. I guess I will wait and see how this all plays out. Does anyone here fish the Indiana ABA and/or the bass weekend series? What do you guys think?
  9. Did you weigh it? I missed out on guessing those fish on that other thread so I am not gonna miss this one. And my guess is ........................2lbs 3 ozs!
  10. Hey RW I will gladly take your "spares" and give em a good workout! LOL! I too have tons of jerkbaits but I use em a lot.
  11. I would start by changing your screen name. ;D Like LBH said shallow is usually not productive while the temps are dropping. I would try fishing deeper for more bites.
  12. That's great that you got to meet a legend! I have heard about how nice he really is in person. Now let's see if we can get you in a decent shirt. I would be happy to give you one of my IU crimson shirts. LOL! ;D
  13. I am one who hates going to a tournament without prefishing. I even prefish before a group of buddies get together to fish for bragging rights. Yes I do hook a few fish from time to time on those "practice days" but thats not the reason I want to be on the water. A lake changes so much through the course of a season that I really feel like I need to be on the water running around and checking out the current conditions for tournament time. Water temp, weedgrowth, baitfish etc.make a big difference in where I want to fish. Knowing these things ahead of time allow more fishing on tournament day. If a club doesn't allow prefishing then I would NOT be a member.
  14. Glad to have you!
  15. Welcome to the forum! Indianapolis, In holds the boat sport and travel show at the state fairgrounds in Febuary. Pretty good show if you are in the area.
  16. RW said it pretty well but in my area and with those conditions I would throw a trap all day and just change the way I fished them as the day wore on.
  17. Glad to have you on board!

I say give me more toys! If it helps me catch more fish then great! I really haven't came across anything that will actually make em BITE my baits. All these toys do is help you find em. Getting them to bite is still up to you.
  19. LOL! Duke I live within 500 ft of I65 do you think a big old sign in my front yard will keep the noise level down a bit?? Perhaps trucks would be considerate enough to only drive 40 mph during daylight hrs? ;D Great comparison! I fish a lot of different tournaments myself and really do not see all the negative things I am hearing about on this thread. Usually its the tournament guys that are more considerate than the other lake users. I don't know perhaps its different in other parts of the country but around here in Indiana tournament folks are a pretty darn good group of people!
  20. Big guy in a Beef O Bradys wrap. LOL! I get a chuckle every time I see that.
  21. LOL! Some people really do NOT like IKE! That's just too bad because it looks like he will be around for a looooong time.
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. I have been wearing the original POLO since high school and have stuck with it ever since. All the ladies seem to like it so why change? ;D
  24. Matt hit it dead on. I have seen rude behavior from all groups on public waters. On the flip side I have come across some really polite people as well. That includes tournament anglers too. Its the people and not the group they belong to that deserve to be blamed.
  25. Hey What do you guys think about the recent another site article saying that a lot of the top pros are going with BASS instead of FLW in 2007? With all the talk about BASS going broke and splitting the state federations up etc. etc. then why are the top names in the business going with them? Makes you kinda wonder what they know that we don't. Bassinfreak
