Fat Ika Presentation
I have been rigging them on heavy dropshot rig. Used 3/8 oz weight on 12 lb test flouro. One of the lakes here in Indiana is known for good sized fish and is full of weeds. I found fish in about 12 ft of water and used the dropshot rig to keep the bait on top of the deep weedline. It has been working pretty good for me the last few times I have been to that lake.

Catch and release ethical question
You were not doing any of that defensive fishing were ya?? LOL! I think you did the right thing. The rules are clear. C & R only. If I were in your shoes I would have done the same thing. I actually keep some Please Release Me on hand and rub some of that on sore places of the bass I catch. I have not had a gill hooked fish since I started using it so I am not sure how I would apply it in that case.

Meanmouths
Thanks! I will be looking at all my smallies closer now.

Meanmouths
Raul Help me out here. I am looking at both pictures and they both look like smallies with one being darker than the other. How do you tell any difference?

Was I wrong, Ethical question.
I agree with most replies. You did not do anything wrong. Having said that, some people feel like you should stay a mile away. Communication to the other to the other boaters/fishermen usually helps ease tensions. Sometimes a simple wave and letting them know your intentions helps. I usually try to ask the people I am coming up on which way they want me to go. This gives them a feeling of control and eases their mind by letting them know I have no intention of crowding them. Avid I know you were probably joking on the defensive fishing idea and I got a chuckle out of it, but what you said really rings true for some people. I don't practice that but I know those who do. Those people generally have a bad reputation among other fishermen and I believe that some day it will catch up with them.

HMM......... Wonder how that will affect Berkley products?

Thanks ReelMech
I agree. Had 1st rate experience with him. He even suggested some things I could do to upgrade my reels. I had him go ahead and upgrade and my reels are working better than when I got them. Once again. Thanks ReelMech!

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
Are we really suprised at the way ESPN handled the Classic? They have ruined many of the shows we watched last summer by canceling the ones many of us liked. Honestly I believe this was by far the worst coverage of the Classic I have seen.

Day Light Savins
I believe the spawn will start earlier. ;D

Fishers of Men
I fish the IN South division. I love the format along with the Friday night meetings. The competition is very good but this group is not as cutthroat like a lot of other trails. The members actually help other members out quite a bit. I highly recommend it.

Spinnerbait Blades
Clear with and without flake would be great. I would use both and see what the fish say. I have looked at the sites Chris suggested and only Lakeland looked like the might have em. They appear to only sell wholesale so I am out of luck there for the moment. If you happen to come across that site that has them that would be of great help. Thanks Shawn

Spinnerbait Blades
Thanks Chris I will check those places out. Munkin those blades are almost what I am looking for. I will look on ebay from time to time and see if the same guy you got yours from posts again. Have you had a chance to try yours? Any luck?

Spinnerbait Blades
I was wondering if any of you tackle makers know of any place that might have clear blades? Perhaps something made out of hi-impact glass or heavy clear plastic? I am trying to make a very low visability spinnerbait for highly pressured fish in clear water. Any Ideas? Thanks

Ika suggestion?
I would really like to see a thread on IKA techniques myself. RWs methods would be a great place to start. After reading his comments on these baits I have decided to really work at fishing with them this year.
