Anybody fish the severn river near smiths marina area?

Maiden voyage on my kayak

My neighbor 3 houses down actually owned a bait company. From 5th grade til 8th grade we walked home from the bus stop and would stop by his house for a few hours and pack nightcrawlers. He paid us 5 cents per dozen we packaged then eventually 10 cents. We made pretty good money and he also gave us brand new spinning rod setups. He still owns the bait company and i see him once in a while and i got a newer tundra than him now lol. Man im feeling old now and im only 30!.

When me and my twin brother were around 4 or 5 until i was 14 dad would wake us up at like 3 or 4 in the morning to get to a small creek before the crowds got there to catch stocked rainbow trout. We had so much fun usually me and my bro would out catch dad or he would be busy untangling our lines lol. I didnt do much fishing from then til about 23 i went to a pond with a zebco and a telescopic rod with no bait and caught tiny frogs off the bank and used them and caught bass after bass. Been hooked ever since.

Spent a week in gulfport Mississippi with my gf at her dads house. Most of the trout were caught on live shrimp and snagged a few on shrimp swimbaits. Caught the lady fish off an island in the gulf pulled so hard for its size. My gf learned how to use a cast net and caught 22 prawns. Got back to maryland and grilled all the fish and shrimp. Caught my first black drum and first redfish.

Im driving to mississippi tomorrow for a week il keep my eyes out!

Ive fished there a few times only caught a few small ones on square bills by the rocks. Fished a tournament there last year didnt catch anything from a jon boat. There are some big ones in there i seen a dead five pounder floating.

I always have some of the black lizards with red flakes and black with a blue tail i use more lizards nowadays than ribbon tail worms.

I went trout fishing in the snow and ice probably close to a foot deep with tennis shoes on was cold as heck then slipped off the bank into the icy river but caught a sappling that saved me from fully submerging my body and basically blew my knee out instead of going to the drs i went to cvs and bought a knee brace. The next day i left for florida to go fishing! My knee hurt for at least 4 months lol

The first week of june il be going down to Gulfport Mississippi with my girlfriend to visit her dad for a week. I plan on doing a good amount fishing but not sure where i want to do some bass fishing and some saltwater fishing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
