  3. Does anyone have any info on... 1. Lake Peachtree: More so of how has it done with being such a young lake but has Line Creek feeding into it. Ive heard mixed reviews and just hadnt out my boat in there yet. 2. Starrs Mill pond: Im going to try it out for the first time soon. Ive seen a lot of vegetation but any work on what works well. Ive walked it a couple times just to scout and went through a lot of maps. Going to try to punch the vegetation, top water early and just aee how well I hold up in the current. 3. Vandivers Lake: I want to put a kayak in here but was curious if anyone has had issues with the DNR. I heard that they have kicked people out from one person but I still see cars parked there everyday on Camp Creek when I pass and ask and no one has had an issue being cited. 4. Anyone know if City Lake in Fairburn is accessible or private for fishing?
  4. Just wanted to revive an old thread on here for the south atlanta fishing gurus out there. Id love to trade stories on some ponds and resevoirs without anyone feeling like their favorite honey hole is going to start being over pressured. No need to give your secret spot but Id def love some help on some of the lakes under I-20. I can def help with Shamrock Park, Duncan Park, Glen Emerald Park, George Sparks, Horton, Kedron, Lake peachtree, Oakley Township, Clara Meer, Walker Lake, Flint River, Flying Biscuit Pond, Huddleston, and Luckys Lake is all I can think of right now. Ive walked the bank on all of these and have put my boat in all the ones that are ok for non gasoline boating anglers. If you have any general questions, Im glad to help.
  5. Nice fish! I was having a similar issue when uploading pics on my post on BR
  6. X2 on the wacky senko or a shakyhead trick worm. First time around the bridge, I like a square bill or yoyo a rattle trap

  18. Im half and half. I love both. Im very sociable and love fishing and love sharing these moments with others. If I could, id fish everytime with my wife but with two kids in diapers, it doesn't always happen. I have a fishing buddy I love going with but my off days are during the week and his are the weekend. So every time I go, its not often but its always different. Diff people or myself and I enjoy them equally every time. I want to start filming while I fish bc there is always a story and I want to save and share the moment, especially when i have others fish with me.
  19. I fished an old under water road bed on lake horton in Fayette County on the south side outside Atl. It was different from what Im used to seeing. Hot 90 degree summer day with storm clouds rolling in last Thursday from 5 til 9. The bass are usually deep but these bass were suspended at 6 or less ft in 25 ft of water on top of a 12 ft roadbed. In the middle of the main point of the lake. I was throwing a norman dd over the road bed from different angles where I marked with a marker buoy to try and hit the road bed. Every hit was in less than a foot of water near the surface. Even got a pickeral that basically almost hit top water when my bait was on the way out. But all around good evening. Nothing huge but it was good to get bit in the dog days of summer and figure them out. Started out shallower at the pump station and rocks and fished the bank all the way to the road bed. After the road bed wheb it started to rain with about 40 mins of sunlight, the bass started hitting next to the rip rap on the powerlines along with the grass stick ups all the way back to the boat ramp
  20. Oh dont mind me...Im just taking some great notes on a great topic. Great replies guys, thank you! When I first purchased a Jon boat, I think my first 3 or 4 trips I didnt catch a fish. Bank fishing all my life and never being in a jon boat before, it was a BIG adjustment. Doing too much was one thing. But just time on the water cured it. That experience, along with slowing down, helped me to adjust. Now, I never get skunked. My first bass in my jon boat was such a dink but I was so proud of that little fish on a drop shot white fluke. Keep your line wet, keep reading a little on BR every night and it will come. Ive come a long way from my first jon boat trip. Only fished 15% of the time on the water and fell in the dock in about 3 ft of water. No fish, search and rescue for a $175 combo and tons of embarassment in front of anglers at my fav lake. If I can figure them out, you can do so much more. Good luck!
  21. It really depends on where I am and the time of day. This year, Ive been trying to catch with baits Ive either never tried or dont have a lot of confidence in. If its morning I always try top water so low confidence is buzz bait to a wake bait to what I know I always catch something on like a popper. I like to search and have tons of confidence in a rattle trap so ive been doing a spinnerbait or square bill. If I get a catch, ive been doing a trig creature bait. I dont have any confidence throwing a norman dd so I spent all Thursday evening throwing that deep diver then I finally figured it out or at least got the feel for it. Then to end the day, I just pitched a jig at every laydown and threw a drop shot roboworm near grass all the way to the dock. Thats usually how Ive been trying to gain confidence instead of throwing a senko or shakey head/trick worm. If I cant get anything to bite all day, then ai go to confidence to just get on in the boat. But I still consider myself a novice at this sport. There are way more baits that I am trying to learn than the number of baits I have confidence in.
  22. It usually catches up with the person. Maybe not that day, but it will
  23. Thanks! One of my fav ways to fish!
